ACE is de representatieve organisatie voor het architectenberoep op Europees niveau. Door zijn 53 Member Organisations, ACE vertegenwoordigt de belangen van meer dan een half miljoen architecten uit 36 landen in Europa.
Its membership includes the regulatory and professional representative bodies from all EU Member States; 6 Observer Members from EU Accession Countries and a potential candidate country (Serbia, Ukraine, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, Moldova and Kosovo); as well as Members with special status (the UK, Switzerland and Norway).
De missie van ACE is:
- Beïnvloeden, door middel van belangenbehartiging, EU-wetgeving & beleid dat van invloed is op onze strategische prioriteiten;
- een invloedrijke en gewaardeerde bron van gezaghebbende informatie zijn voor het architectenberoep in Europa;
- Optreden als de gemeenschappelijke stem van het architectenberoep in de Europese instellingen;
- een doeltreffend genetwerkt vertegenwoordigend orgaan zijn voor architecten en praktijken in de EU;
- Creëer een faciliterende praktijk- en regelgevingsomgeving voor architecten & -praktijken;
- Demonstreer de rol van architecten bij het creëren van een echt concurrerend, verrijkend en duurzaam Europa.

Architecten in Europa
According to ACE 2024 Sector study, there are 580 000 architects across 30 European countries, marking an 8% increase over the past decade. The profession is approaching gender parity, women now represent 45% of professionals. Most architects work full-time, and a significant portion, 46%, are practice owners or principals, many operating as small, independent firms. More work as Principals now compared with 10 years ago.
