[Utterly shattered though she had been lately, Willow had taken yet another project on. This one had been given priority - partly to stop her fruitless yet determined searching - as she had promised she would have it done soon.

The program's anonymous setting had been the trickiest part, but finally cracked, she was ready to release it to the network.]

As I am not the only one wondering about the effects of death on us all here, I would be interested in knowing more. It has been discussed and decided upon a questionnaire about it.

[She seems to gather a bit of steam now] I am sure many of you would prefer not to openly discuss such a traumatic event, so I have implemented an anonymous version. Inspired by the Valentine's prank someone did recently, actually.

The file is attached to this post. All you need do it fill it out and send it back. There are two options in returning it. All fields must be filled in for it to accept the file transfer, but if you select the button 'File Anonymously' rather than 'File', it will encode that information away from anyone - myself included. This is a measure to prevent people trying to skew the results.

Once I have pieced together the information, I will compile a report anyone may have access to. Obviously, any sensitive data will be omitted.

Another good question to add would be how someone died. I think it makes a difference in the price.

I thought of putting that in but I was worried it would scare people off from filling it out.

We need to understand if we are ever to try to make our lives better here. Where I come from, bringing someone back from the dead is near-impossible. [She looks away for a moment]

It has grave repercussions. Wiccans promised many centuries ago to never do it. Yet here, it is done seemingly easily - for a price. A price determined by the Animus.

[Ami frowns a bit.] Shouldn't we be attempting to prevent deaths, all the same? It seems that people coming back to life here is outside our control.

That is part of it. [She nods in affirmation]

Some deaths we can't prevent and prevention is better than cure but for those we cannot stop, then we need to know what to expect.

You mean as far as losses go?

Yes. There might be a way to return lost things to them. I won't know until I have researched a lot more - but it is worth a try. Right?

[Ami thinks back on what losses she knows of for a moment. For Usagi to remember Mamoru-san vividly could give her a faint twinkle of hope...nevermind the others that have suffered losses also.]

It's certainly worth a try. It's not as though there is something to do instead.

I just hope it can help people.

[Ami nods.] If anything, perhaps we could better prepare the loved ones of those who return with alterations.
