"Hello? Is this -" [There's the sound of static as Arthur drops the PCD and then a whole lot of noise as he picks it up and tries to figure out which way to hold it.]

"-Is this thing working? Hello?"

[There's the sound of breating for a moment then the King of Camelot continues.] "I only arrived in this...place a few days ago and I just want to know...what exactly am I supposed to do here? I understand there's no tests or trials...but I feel I should do something."

[Pauses for a while longer.] "Is anyone in need of a knight?"

[Hey Arthur, you like glowing alien teenagers right? Because there's a tired one frowning at her phone now, with pale skin that glows with strange biolumimescence, with horns sticking out of her dark hair.]

Most of the city is asleep and you're looking for something to do?

[Arthur gives a huge start at the sight of the...what is that?! It looks vaguely human and speaks in an understandable dialect, but seriously what?

To say nothing of him not been used to visions of people showing up on strange little devices that make no sense.]

"Who...what...are you some sort of...sorcerer?"

[Oh great, backwards humans. Kanaya just sighs, she's too tired for this shit.]

"You don't look like any troll I've ever seen." [Admittedly Arthur's only met one.] "Are those...horns?"

[He's not even going to touch the rest of that, because it sounds like gibbberish to him.]

[Kanaya is just going to give him the flattest, most unhappy look ever because what else would they be. And then she frowns but it's more puzzlement than anything else.]

People are falling asleep all over the city.

[A pause]

The ones that are sleeping will need someone to keep them safe should they be attacked by monsters here.

[Aha! Someone helpful! Arthur is greatly in debted to you, young man.]

"A sleeping sickness?" [He frowns.] "It's probably a spell...I've encounted one like it before."

[This is serious.]

A spell maybe. But I'm sure it's an event hosted by the Animus since it seems to be so widespread.

[Animus, he'd been told about them when he arrived, but only very vaguely and frankly Arthur has no idea what they are exactly.]

"And it's making people fall asleep, and not wake up? That's how it happened in Camelot. A witch meant to kill the king...and probably everyone else in the castle as well." [Arthur grimaces to remember it.] "We're all in danger."

[Leon nods, but then he said Camelot. But for now he doesn't say anything because the topic of people along with their well being and safety is more important. Though the witch part admittedly reminded him a lot of Maleficent.]

Sounds about the same. The events usually last about a week here and they're different every time.

[A thoughtful pause.]

Even if people die here they come back to life after about a week, though something is lost to them in that time and that varies too.

"So I've heard." [Arthur's not sure if hearing a voice without seeing an image is more unsettling or not...]

"I'm fortuante in having been trained for such things. I'm not just some idle king you know."

[ Oh. More royalty? He sounds a bit young to be a king, but as far as Zuko knows about his own future, he becomes Fire Lord before he hits eighteen. ]

What other training do you have?

[Arthur looks younger then he is...and would probably be offended by Zuko's opinion so it's lucky he doesn't voice it!]

"Well...I suppose I have diplomatic skills...although my Queen is more adept at that sort of thing." [He pauses, frowning. Guinevere...she's not here.]

You suppose?

[ Zuko's not one to talk though, watching his father (and grandfather before him) while growing up, Ozai wasn't the best role model. ]

If you're that desperate for something to slay I suggest starting on the monstrosities tearing in to the flesh of whatever they get their hands on. They're likely to kill the people who've fallen asleep.

"Monsters? Where are they?"

[You'll have to excuse him, he's only just arrived and has barely strayed far from the safer area of the city.

But he has a sword and training and is more than ready to take on anything.]

Coming in from the wastes, they're what you've been hearing screaming for what must have been days.

They're rather hard to miss.

[Arthur looks rather such stricken, he had heard the noise, but in the absence of any warning bells had assumed the creatures were still beyond the city limits.]

"I have only just arrived here...I’m...sorry. How many have been lost."

I don't keep track of the dead.

[What does he look like, the Grim Reaper? Other than the whole wearing black and fighting with a scythe and riding a horse things they're nothing alike.]

They're not particularly difficult to herd if you have some help.

[There's a smaller Nightmare visible flitting behind him, trailing black sand as it passes.]

[Well, if one was aiming to insult the King of Camelot one couldn’t have picked a better question.

But! Arthur manages to remember he's not in Camelot anymore.

Still he's a little red-faced when he finally replies.]

"I am my own lord, King Arthur of Camelot, Sir...?"

[Well, you didn't introduce yourself before, and you looked like you were offering your services. And he's the guy who usually has people working for him where he's from.]

A king? So this place draws even the highest-born to enslave them?

[This is true, but Arthur's used to people knowing who he is...it's going to take him a while to get used to people not knowing him.]

"Enslave?" [Well, he doesn't like the sound of that!]

[Then he blinks a bit confused.] "Japan? I've never heard of that kingdom."

I must admit I have never heard of yours either.
