It was just a minute, just a single minute in time as she was fighting Vampire after Vampire while Willow shouted her spell and Spike fought on the other end of the horde of Vampires. They seemed unending, each uglier, nastier, and more skilled in fighting than the last. After all her years, she couldn't believe she'd finally been taken captive by a nest, but her gang had not failed to show up to her rescue. Her Scoobies were here, but moreover he was here.

Still, she'd doubted her rescue until that moment when their eyes locked over the vicious, snarling horde. He caught her gaze and held it for just one minute, but it was all she needed to feel assured her again, to know he loved her, to know that he, and they, would stop at nothing to come to her rescue. His eyes met hers, and in that moment, despite the feral intensity of his yellow orbs, Buffy knew. She was saved, she was loved, and all would come out right in the end.

Spike dusted two at once and dove forward, shoving his way to her. He reached her, then whirled around to stake more.
