FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Roman Lazaar, designated internally as the revered and consecrated GARDENER BETWEEN, is both Bloodletter and high-valued asset of E.D.E.N., a multinational biotech and defense corporation governed by the devout cult of the Witchmother, Our Lady Mother.

Operating out of Las Veras, Nevada, in the state's southernmost corner where the desert thins out toward Arizona, Romy is the public face and carefully curated persona of E.D.E.N. To investors and media, he represents the company’s future: raw, volatile, and promising in the way people like to call damage ambition. He's a one-man headliner. Problem child. Fighter, smeared in corporate-sponsored cages and pay-per-view cards across the world. Heir-apparent, hopefully.

All of this is deliberately cultivated, allowing E.D.E.N. to frame its most controversial research and defense initiatives as necessary innovation rather than ideological extremity. If he's bleeding, it means the work matters, their visible wound in Roman Lazaar turned their most compelling brand.

And as long as eyes stay on him — his body, his mouth, his fights — they don't drift to the machine behind him, manufacturing trauma like currency.

He's a cunt.
ABILITIES
As an experienced and highly trained Bloodletter, Romy can use his own blood to: suspend death temporarily, open the boundary between life and death, draw out unfinished spirits, and move pain, memory, or consequence from one place to another.

He has two specialized abilities unique to his person, see:

ILLUSION MANIPULATION

Currently, Romy cannot create his own illusions, but he can identify and enter an illusion/false reality that is not his own and "hijack" it by either spilling his own blood (at great personal cost) or the blood of the illusionist. Once he has hijacked an illusion, he can build off of it, seizing creative control from the illusionist and even turning small aspects of the illusion into physical form to harm the illusionist.

Proximity matters. Experience matters, too. The older or more experienced the illusionist, the more blood he has to spill to seize control, and the more he puts himself at risk for collapse or injury.
MEMORY DROP (FORCED RECALL)

Romy can psychically identify and enter unresolved memories in a target's mind, forcing the memory to assert itself as the primary experiential reality for the target.

He cannot create new memories for the target, only build off of and manipulate memories that have been presented to him. This is most effective on individuals without a stable self-narrative, with active trauma to exploit.
ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Both abilities tax a high cost on Romy.
    • Extended, frequent use can lead to memory contamination or even involuntary recall events, with Romy trapping himself in his own memories or the memories of an unintended target.
  • Violent or sudden termination of a recall event can lead to seizures and hemorrhaging.
  • At this point in time, he can only impose himself on one target at a time.
  • All Bloodletters build up a blood debt with magic use, a cumulative burden that can never be paid off. For many, this accumulation leads to an early death unless the debt is transferred elsewhere or the Bloodletter elects to undergo Harvest, a process that removes and preserves the blood from its failing host at the cost of the carrier's life.
