Detailed History

PERSONALITY:

As a child Ana was rambunctious, adventurous and mischievous. She was the one most often in trouble, fighting with other children in Shaemoor often in defense of her much meeker twin brother, dragging her friends off in to harrowing situations and arguing with their parents more than any of their other children. She was stubborn and fairly headstrong. While she grew up and left many of these traits behind, the transition to adulthood and her current personality was not without struggle and rude awakenings.

By the time the attack on Claw Island happened she had already abandoned a lot of her previously childish behaviors. She got along better with her parents, especially her mother who had managed to reign her in by encouraging a lot of hobbies and skills that tempered her attitude greatly. Rurik grew into his own and became braver and less a target of bullying, stemming Ana's desire to constantly protect him to at least fighting with their peers less. She still had a great sense of adventure and absolutely wanted to see all she could of Tyria but that was something easily fed by her eventual joining of the Whispers. She can still be somewhat rude, overly blunt, claims she "eats and sleeps too much" but does little to change such behaviors, laughs at terrible jokes, gets sloppy drunk and quietly dreams of fairy tale romances despite knowing that's not at all how the world works and that her (short) record with relationships has been sub par at best.

Losing Tybalt was the first time Ana really experienced true grief, though. Something that turned her mostly positive if sometimes unrealistic outlook on life and "heroism" into something more grounded and realistic. She is far from pessimistic and despite all she has been through still believes there is a better future for Tyria that can be worked towards, but she's also much more aware that these efforts won't always return with perfect results. She knows they may lose, they may fail, they may not save everyone. She is still stubborn in that she will always do everything she can in her power to achieve that perfect result but she is not such a perfectionist as to beat herself up with every failure as she once did.

She is, however, someone who has experienced a lot of grief, someone who has mourned many. Every friend gone has chipped away at her and left her with a constant ache. She knows all of them would want her to keep moving forward and she has never had any intention of doing the opposite, but these losses have also made her heavily reconsider her direction in life. Rather than continuing within structured orders and groups she felt she would have a better impact as a guild leader, as someone who could shape and guide others within Tyria that may have felt even more lost than her. Obviously she knows there's nothing stopping her from further death and heartache in the future but with this she felt she had a fraction more control over her life and the outcomes of whatever mess she got involved in next.

Ana would not consider herself a natural leader, however. She's good at it but that came from a lot of practice as a mentor in her own right within with Whispers as well as the care and time Tybalt took with her before his passing. She recognizes easily that she's just as prone to mistakes as anyone and that even as a guild commander her word is not completely emphatically law. She's willing to be corrected, to defer to others who may know more than her and has a natural give and take with Rurik as her co-commander. There are things she can still be stubborn about but it's a trait she has actively been attempting to reign in especially for the sake of those under her command.

She still has a strong sense of duty to Tyria, a desire to right wrongs and give justice to innocents, but she's become increasingly aware that they can't always succeed in these endeavors either. It has resulted in her having to make some very difficult calls and some of her actions may be considered callous or uncaring to the uninformed. If the situation came down to knowing that the best chance of survival may have to come at the cost of abandoning the mission and there is absolutely no other recourse she will take survival over a "useless" death that leaves her unable to continuing to help people. That said it would have to be the absolute last resort. She will retreat only when retreat is the only option left.

At this juncture of her life her friends and Rurik are the most important thing to her, not even second to the protection of Tyria, which is absolutely a priority but not something she would give up those relationships for. She does love her adopted family, though she's not close to every single one of her many siblings, but the friendships she's formed over the years have become incredibly special to her. She has lived, laughed, loved and even died with some of these people and she wouldn't give them up for the world. New friendships do require at least some time and level of trust to get that close to others but she's also fully aware that allies mean stability and support and she'll be looking to make friends more than inadvertently gaining enemies.

POWERS/ABILITIES:

➸Archery : Ana was trained in archery by her mother. She specializes in the Longbow and uses specifically Ranger based skills, allowing for multi-shot and rapid-shot attacks.

➸Axe throwing : Though she no longer uses an Axe, having traded for the Druidic staff, were Ana to pick up a throwing axe she would still have access to the Ranger skills for it including cluster throws and ricochet.

➸Druid Magic | Healing | Glyphs : During her time in the jungle Ana awoke the ability of the Druid, including the specialized staff skills. Druid magic pulls heavily from earth and plant magic including summoning of vines and energy barriers as well as tapping into more Celestial magics through the temporary Celestial form. Druids also make for excellent healers with both the Celestial form and Glyph skills often providing healing magic and boosts. She is not a completely dedicated healer like how a water Elementalist would be, but she can provide a decent amount of support in battle.

She also has no bo-staff like skills. Her staff is entirely for channeling and not for melee.

➸Espionage : Ana's specialty within the Whispers was espionage and Intel gathering. She is capable of using a brief shadow form to hide herself in plain sight and has a fairly honed level of natural stealth. She's obviously not perfect and would ever use her skills for ill.

➸Leadership : As stated in her personality, she's not a natural leader and it took several years to craft this skill into something usable, but she does have enough charisma to get people to listen to her or even default to her in combat situations.

➸Animal Husbandry/Training : Being raised on a farm gave Ana a good sense with animals from a young age, and as she got older she was further instructed on the finer points of husbandry and pet training. She would never be considered a full veterinarian but she has a lot of innate knowledge of how to care for animals both sick and well, how to breed for good, strong traits and how to charm them into being loyal and even battle capable.

➸Horticulture/Agriculture : The Ackermann farm was both livestock and agriculture, though the latter became more of a hobby for her in recent years as she's tried to learn the finer points of growing on a smaller scale and specializing in herbs and flowers rather than wheat and corn and the like. She's certainly not a master and may never be but she can keep a basil plant growing even in harsh times and produce some flavorful leaves.

➸Cooking : Cooking is also more of a hobby she took up later in life, but her skills are limited to stoves and ovens that are brick, stone and fire. She's liable to burn something several times before figuring out how to use electric devices. A microwave is going to straight up confuse her.

➸Music : One of the hobbies Ana was encouraged into when she was younger was playing the violin. It was not a common instrument for children in Shaemoor but that made her all the more determined to master it. She wouldn't quite be concerto level, especially due to lack of practice during her more active years in the Whispers and Pact, but she's fairly talented and can play a variety of styles. She's also gifted at singing, though that's less refined and clearly not something she ever gave any serious practice to.
