Banana Hacks is a virtual, 24-hour, university styled hackathon. High schoolers from anywhere are encouraged to sign up, but keep in mind we can only send out prizes and free merchandise to those in Peel Region!
Most high school hackathons tend to reward designs, but we prioritize complexity, functionality, and efforts to truly code a project from scratch. We encourage all students, regardless of experience and region to come out and join us!
A hackathon is an event which incorporates competition, learning, memorable activities, and meeting new people! In your 24 hours, you can attend tons of fun activities, build a side project in teams or by yourself, and pitch it to judges through a video + project submission on Devpost!
Organized by the Banana Hacks Team:
Directors: Jaimil, Sam, Ayush
Team: Neil Patel, Samarth Patel, Haris Kamal, Vraj Patel, Jacky Truong, Krish Patel, Kamaldeep Dhillon
Requirements
Your job is to build a project related to theme released at our opening ceremonies. It doesn't have to be the best designed, but make sure it's functional and has some code or technicality to it. Remember, functionality and technicality will reward you more points than design.
Please include a video submission for judges to see as well as a zip file or link to your project source code.
Video submission requirements:
- Maximum of 4 minutes
- Must include a demo of your project (show how it works)
- Must include how you created it (screenshots/explanations of how you made it)
- Must include relation to theme or why this product is important
Code/Project submission requirements:
- Include a zip file of your code or screenshots in your devpost submission
- Include a link to your Github repository or other if applicable
- Ensure you have a readME for the Devpost submission (a summary sheet)
