[So he's now.. a god, huh? Sabo never thought to be one, let alone being someone notorious enough to have followers. I mean sure he's Chief of Staff of the Revolutionaries as he was pretty devoted to it because their ideals fit his but it isn't really that glamorous. He kind of just walks around, staring at the many colorful decorations about. There was a really nice line of food placed on the laced tables. Beef, chicken, various salads, and other eateries. It's pretty fancy. Seeing all of this makes his stomach growl.]
This food is just too good. I'm digging in.
[He grabs a chicken leg and takes a bite. Can't waste food, right?]
Gotta say.. if I'm a god, how would we meet our Shinkis? [Mumbling while having his face stuffed with chicken.] There's just so many people here.
[He takes another bite before proceeding over to the nearest punch bowl on the next table.]
Ah, well. I'll figure it out sooner or later. [Not like he is going to think much about it anyway. Just go with the flow.]

Date: 2016-07-22 12:22 pm (UTC)And what was with his outfit as a human, anyway? Why had he been shirtless? He had shorts and boots on, along with two bracelets - one looked more like a compass than a bracelet though - a red necklace, and an orange hat. Part of him wanted to at least find a shirt so that he wasn't shirtless, but another part of him said no, you're fine this way. He shrugged internally at himself. Whatever, maybe he'll be given a shirt later.
Regardless, once he was free to roam, he did so, wondering who his god would be, if they'd be as incredible as they sound. He hoped so. He also hoped they would get along well. Noticing how hungry he seemed to be, he decided to grab a plate of food and a drink and sit down with them at a table with other shinkis. He waved to them, joined in on some small-talk, though it was mostly them wondering how they ended up here and what they had become. He ate as the others talked.
Once he had started eating more, however, a strange thing had happened.
Very suddenly, he had his face planted in his food, chicken legs on the side of his face, amongst the rest of the food on his plate. Thankfully, he had landed with his face to the side, so he would not suffocate in his food. His hat fell behind him, resting on his bare back as he snored into his plate.
Others had begun to become confused at what just happened, causing a ruckus with the people at the table Ace was sitting at. Something that Sabo would surely hear.]

Date: 2016-07-28 12:01 pm (UTC)Hey... hey..... [With his gloved hands placed over the man's shoulders, he shakes him a bit more.] We're in the middle of a party.. it's not the time to be sleeping-

Date: 2016-07-28 12:02 pm (UTC)You... you're new here too, right? [His head leans down. He swallows himself as he talks to the 'unknown' fellow.] I'm... I'm Sabo. [A gradually quiet voice as he says his name.] I'm a god.

When the hell did I fall asleep?--

Date: 2016-07-31 08:39 am (UTC)He's supposed to be this man's shiki.
So he smiles - smirks? - at him, standing up before sticking his hand out for a handshake. There may or may not be some food still stuck to his face, sorry, Sabo.]
I am. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sabo.

Date: 2016-08-02 12:51 pm (UTC)However, as how polite and considerate he was being despite his lack of memory, he keeps it in. As much as he wants to let out a scream for Ace, the one he remembers... he chooses not to. He takes in a few moments instead, letting out a breath slowly. Gaining composure from it, he lets out a hand in return. ]
It's... nice to meet you too.. [A pause.] Portgas D. Ace. [In the same quiet but stil audible voice. He closes his eyes, and tries to form a smile, despite the droplets that had formed near the eyelids. He faces the other man.. the shinki who is "Ace". This is not the time to be crying right now, Sabo.]
I take it this is also your.. first time. [With a shiver. It feels so cold right now.] I look forward to working with you. [The droplets, they fell. His teeth just bites into that lip and trying not to feel any sadness he is keeping in. The emptiness he feels with this "stranger" he forged bonds with years ago. How alone he feels being aware that the memories they shared.. are gone from him. His unused hand drops back down and clenches, shaking it with grief. Who in what world would lead him to have such a fate?]

Date: 2016-08-09 06:14 am (UTC)And then that confirmed it: the name that rolled off of Sabo's lips. "Portgas D. Ace." Sabo definitely knew him from before. Before all of... this. That also explained the tattoo on his left arm. It didn't explain the crossed-out S in the middle of his name, though, but he's sure that'll come later. Perhaps this Sabo knew. No, Ace is sure he knows.
Ace. Ace. His name. His real name. Not the new name he was given, not "Hiki". But Ace. Yes, he feels as though that suits him more.
But all he could think about was how he had seemingly lost his memory... only to find someone who knew of his past. Not only knew, but it seemed as though they were close? Maybe? That would be the only explanation as to why Sabo's reaction to seeing him. Sabo knew... but he didn't. And that made him sad, but also angry at those who gave them this fate. Did they know about this, and that was why this happened?
He wanted desperately to remember what had happened.
He opens his mouth to say something, but he stops when he sees the tears forming in the blonde's eyes, and Sabo continues to speak.
And then he cries. And for some reason, Ace felt the need to grab Sabo by the arms with worry in his eyes. Moving his hand downward to clasp onto Sabo's wrist, he starts to lead him away from the huge dining hall, where a number of people were staring in their direction. He didn't know why, but he felt as though he should lead Sabo away from people so he wouldn't cry in front of them. He briefly wonders if this happened before.
Reaching the hallway and making sure there weren't many people around, Ace turns back around to Sabo with a small frown.]
You... knew me from before.
[This came as a statement, rather than a question, and Ace's eyebrows knot in worry. He whispers the next words, barely audible, even in the quiet hallway:]
I'm sorry.

Date: 2016-08-14 10:45 am (UTC)Yes I... knew you from before. [He looks back down, wondering how he goes about explaining their history.] At the time before your death... you didn't even know I was alive. My memories with you and Luffy had not surfaced then. [In a gradual soft tone, going quieter. He gives a pause before responding to the next line.]
But there is no need for an apology. It's not your fault. [He makes a small glance to the side, still ridden with emotion. His voice continues to be quiet but strained.] It's something that happened, and that it couldn't be helped. [He pulls his hands away from Ace for a moment, only to clamp onto his.] The fact that you are here now.. is a miracle in itself. [He gives a teary smile looking right at him in order to try not to worry the shinki more. Ace looks like he's about to cry. ....Sabo, your tears are almost contagious I swear.]

Date: 2016-08-17 06:46 am (UTC)However, it changed to one of surprise, and he swallowed hard. He had died before... He had died and didn't know the man in front of him was still alive. He wondered how that would have felt if he had his memories... How he should have felt being told this. Ace stares at the blonde even more intently now. He wants to ask about this "Luffy" person, and something tells him that knowing him is important, but he decides to ask later.
Ace watches Sabo in a mix of emotions. Worry, pity, sadness... Resentment to whoever put them in this situation. But once the blonde had said that Ace being here with Sabo is a miracle... And the smile... Oh, that smile. Ace couldn't help but stare for a moment before smiling back, his own eyes becoming misty. He nods.]
I'll do my best, then, as your shinki. I hope I'm able to remember everything, someday. Maybe you can tell me stories about our past.
