GOSH THAT'S SUPER UNSPECIFIC so I'm just going to kind of ramble aimlessly uhhh well, Cassim is my angry thief. Alibaba is his adoptive brother and was the only family he had left before they both died. (His sister died of illness, I forgot how Alibaba's mother died, and Cassim killed his father.) He has a really huge crippling inferiority complex in regards to Alibaba though and EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE OTHER, BETTER REASONS TOO, that complex is honestly a large part of his motivation for starting a giant bloody revolt in their home country. I HAVE A REALLY HARD TIME EXPLAINING HIS DEATH, IT'S A REALLY NONSENSICAL DEATH but long story short he stabbed himself, turned into a djinn, and then had like a clash of spirit bird things with Alibaba and then faded away when his will to fight left him. Idk my bff Magi. He's super bitterrr at royalty AND FOR GOOD REASON, KING ALIBABA'S OLDER BROTHER WAS A REALLY SHITTY KING, which is a large chunk of why he and Alibaba both immediately jumped on the KILL GILGAMESH train. Also he hates himself and considers himself to be of the same cut as his abusive father. It's really shitty.
YOU TRY BEING A FOOT SHORTER THAN GILGAMESH AND BEING HIS BFF!1 He is not usually fussed about his height at all. But it was one of those like :o oh, I could have been taller. Moments. And it certainly would be easier to sit on Gil if he was taller (to compensate he just pulls Gil down -- but . . . ) BUT YES MOSTLY DOES NOT THINK OF HIS HEIGHT but meeting another Enkidu was new and different.
I AM ALSO CANONBLIND FOR WIL . . . DO YOU WANNA RAMBLE AIMLESSLY ABOUT HIM TOO . . .
I have no idea what his weapon would have even counted as but going by how shitty his life was yeah probably
yes
WIL IS LIKE THE OPPOSITE OF CASSIM, he has a healthy, loving family and his hometown of Pherae had a really fair, capable marquess so everything was pretty great in his childhood. And then he ran away with his best friend when he was twelve because he was bored and he's an idiot. NEEDLESS TO SAY THINGS WENT TO SHIT PRETTY FAST, he and his friend split up pretty fast and he basically just wandered across the continent as a vagabond for four years. His main good trait is that he's a quick learner, especially from mistakes, so he really doesn't take anything for granted anymore. Like, anything. On the other hand, he's still practically a master at avoiding shit so if he were calmer in Thusia people would barely realize he had any problems. (As it is he's in like a constant state of trying not to go completely stir crazy so he's slipped up a few times.) The only time he ever brings up his past in canon is with two people he knew from his hometown (his best friend and his best friend's little sister, neither of which are conversations which apply to this Wil), with the one exception being the lady he enlisted in service to, Lyndis of Caelin, who topped him into telling her why he hadn't spoken to his parents in so long and made him promise to write them a letter and go see them after the war. And then for this Wil he totally failed that promise BY DYING and will probably never stop feeling really awful about it.
OH THAT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WIL AND CASSIM TOO, Wil didn't plan on dying and really hates that he died.; he's really grateful that the gods brought him back and sees Thusia as basically a way to redeem himself. Meanwhile Cassim was totally cool with dying and had in fact FINALLY CALMED DOWN AND ACHIEVED SOME SEMBLANCE OF PEACE? and really wanted to see his sister and Alibaba's mother again and then he showed up here. HE'S NOT HAPPY WITH IT.
but Wil is just a lot better at being happy than Cassim in general anyway.
ALSO RIN NEEDS TO MEET WIL :|a but that isn't a question
what does Rin think of Diarmuid's other roommates so far, then
he's really grateful for the place to stay and really grateful they're all willing to go hunting from time to time (even though he wants to go out more not that he will ask), but he's also really tense around Ky and Cayden. Diarmuid is the only one who comes across as familiar so he's the only one Wil doesn't worry about like offending or anything like that. Ky is probably who he's the worst around, because Ky ends up flustering him the most and Cayden is more willing to drop things when Wil wants them to be dropped, but Cayden is still probably who he's most tense around because Cayden is the one he feels the most solidly different from. Ultimately he does like all of them, though, but it's still sort of awkward.
MANIPULATE PEOPLE??? the only special powers he had were from items that he doesn't have in Thusia and weren't actually attached to him in particular, but he is pretty good at manipulating people...
I guess that's for the best. It would be bad if he had super magical powers, got high, and thought everyone was like parasitic brain aliens trying to take over the world or something.
big one is he thinks Akito's kind of a doormat. Before the whole optimism vs. pretending conversation he actually sort of distantly reminded him of Alibaba, but after that conversation the resemblance went away which is probably a good thing. That topic did shift things a lot already; before it he was more interested in Akito because he's a manipulative bastard and Akito seemed pretty simple and malleable, but after it he's a little more wary and has a little more respect, too.
ahaha Akito can be a pretty manipulative bastard too, when he wants to be. if Cassim ever tried to manipulate him, chances are that he (and/or Lind) would catch on and play along for a little while ftlulz...
Akito is kind of slow to form solid opinions on people, since he's really... cautious? with who he befriends. he doesn't want to get hurt anymore, orz. BUT. he thinks Cassim is nice, and it's a huge bonus that he's not from Sabra or whatever.
