Uh, since this community is new and on its tiny baby steps, this is a somewhat off-topic post for us to introduce ourselves, or just......... chat.

Hi all! My name’s Cris and I’m the Chairwoman of the Lee&Herring Memorial Society a fan of everything nineties! My fannish life consists of hoarding archiving a lot of comedy related things and, on occasion, drawing. I look forward to getting to know everyone on here, and hope that we can make this comm thrive!

Yay, let's have content here on DW!

I'm margins and I love panel shows, mostly the nerdy, pun-filled, and less news-focused stuff. And things that contain David Mitchell. :D I've written a lot of David Mitchell/Charlie Brooker.

Looking forward to meeting new people!

Hi guys!! I'm Marina, I'm escaping the hell that is becoming tumblr, very excited to help post some content here! =D
I have a lot of love for a lot of comedians although The Horne Section, Mark Steel and Elis James own my heart.

Hi! I’m emef. I like tropes, books, politics, and people whose preferred form of affection is someone showing how well they know them by saying what will make them the most crazy. I also knit and play music and write fic! Let’s hang out!

Welcome! Relationships based in irritation via familiarity are exactly my niche too. (really enjoyed your Mitchell/Brooker fics by the way!~)

Hi guys! (Does this feel like an .. AA-style comedy fan meeting? :) I'm Janine and I don't create #content but I love seeing all of your fab stuff. The Britcom community was one of my fave things on tumblr and I don't want to see everything go to shit.. so thanks for creating this one (I'm having MAJOR Livejournal flashbacks but then again I loved LJ so..). Oh yeah, and I have loads of favourite comedians but at the moment my ultimate faves are John Robins + Elis James :)

Did I just create a Dreamwidth account to join this community after stumbling upon it from an AO3 link? Yes indeed, and I’d love to see what lurks in the juicy members-only content!

I’ve been a longtime lurker in the Britcom fandom (had a Tumblr for years under a different name, went to the EdFringe twice - a big deal as a US fan of UK comedy) and can’t wait to be a part of it again (spurred on by finally seeing James Acaster live last week for the first time!)

Yoooo I'm [personal profile] circular_whims, was super active in Mock the Week fandom on LJ back in the day, still extremely nostalgic for the days of The Panel. I miss when we were able to have Russell and Jon radio show listen-alongs ;_;. Also into double acts! Hugely into Armstrong and Miller, which also turned into being hugely into Armstrong and Osman...

Fic can be found at [archiveofourown.org profile] ever_increasing_circles! But all my old fandom shenanigans were on LJ so my DW is pretty new and empty. I've fallen off the energy wagon fandom-wise, but I'm super excited for any active fandom space that isn't tumblr ♥

Hi, I'm MLR and I'm an American BritCom-er (BritComCommer?).

I used to ship Jon Richardson/Russell Howard intensely hard, and then I watched Russell on series 6 of Taskmaster and rapidly lost interest in him/the ship. /o\ I continue(d) to watch britcom, but that + lots of daddy kink triggers on ao3 made me stop reading fic for a while.

But you guys have recently re-hooked me on BritCom fic! The recent James Acaster/Ed Gamble stuff has just grabbed me by the guts, so I'm tentatively dipping my toes back into fandom :) Thanks for making this comm!

(edited to add) I'm envious of all your wonderful britcom icons, so I'm excited to find some to steal (with attribution) ;)

Hi everyone! I'm libraralien/bella. I found this com via ao3, motivated by watching the most recent season of Taskmaster. In addition to Taskmaster, I have also been quite taken with James Acaster lately. I have only ever privately been a britcom fan, never involved in the fandom on tumblr or lj, but have been into many britcom shows/radio shows/podcast/comedians/etc. over the years (older stuff from the 80s and 90s as well!). Excited to find this space!

(What 90s stuff are you into, if you don’t mind me asking?)

Hello all, this is my first time ever participating in this sort of thing (I’m usually more keen to just watch from the sidelines). I’m a massive fan of British panel shows etc and my first obsessions were with David Mitchell and Jon Richardson. I’m currently on the James Acaster Hype Train and I have no plans of disembarking. I’d love to be introduced to more british comedians, because I feel like I always just drift towards content with the same dozen or so characters.

Hiii I’m really shy and usually don’t actuvely participate in this sort of stuff but I recently stumbled upon this community and couldn’t help but join. I LOVE LOVE LOVE British comedy — everything from the classic Dylan Moran, Armando Iannucci, David Mitchell, Simon Amstell, Noel Fielding line to the new generation of James Acaster, Ed Gamble, Josh Widdicomb, Jon Richardson, Joe Lycett line. I’m finding comfort here already that there are others that are on the Acaster hype train...

Hi, I used to post comedy gifs and screencaps on tumblr a lot before my computer died and a new job robbed me of all my fandom time. Joining this comm is an attempt at not losing touch entirely.

My highlight of 2019 was seeing Dylan Moran and Dara Ó Briain live. I'm into panel shows, some podcasts and have developed a love for older stuff. The list of my favourite comedians is way too long, but I love lists and need little encouragement to actually make that list of favourites.

I have a sort of media collection and will gladly share.

Also, I know I need to make a comedy icon ^^

Halloo nice to meet you, I'm here for all the Britcom fan stuff! Mostly obsessed with Taskmaster and related things atm, but previously also David Mitchell, Richard Herring, Sally Phillips, and many more. Yes I like ships/slash etc and very detailed information about programmes so purlease let me in to the sanctum! :D

Hey, long time fandom lurker but first time fandom commenter here! I've dipped in and out of fandom stuff for years but I've finally taken the plunge to get involved (and to get my hands on that sweet members only content!) I'm totally new to this, so bear with me while I learn my way around.

I feel like I'm a late joiner of the Acaster Hype Train, but I'm making up for it by watching, reading and listening to everything I can get my hands on! I also love Ed Gamble, Hugo Boss (formerly Joe Lycett), David Mitchell, Charlie Brooker, Josh Widdicombe and Jon Richardson, but I'm always looking out for any new obsessions! I've caught the writing bug as well recently, but I won't say any more on here :)

hi! i'm new to dreamwidth, and thought this seemed like a really cool community! i'm cecil and lately i can't get enough britcoms. although i love newer shows and comedians (noel fielding? james acaster? TASKMASTER?) my bigger interest lies in 80s/90s britcoms, with my favourite comedian of all time being sean hughes (i really want to meet more fans of him! seans show is so good..) i also love mark lamarr, and the whole comic strip gang (rik, ade, french and saunders, etc.) looking forward to seeing whats in store here!

Hi! I've been watching panel shows, podcasts and sitcoms since forever but only became aware of a fandom last summer after watching Taskmaster. Currently I quite like Joe Lycett, James Acaster (shocking, I know), Phil Wang, and I'm also a billion years late to Fry & Laurie. I want to go digging for more niche/underappreciated comics though and go to more live comedy when it starts up again. (Has there been a post on the comm before where people rec their faves? I'd read that)
I'm getting into fanart too, here's a portrait of Lycett I did

Hello! [personal profile] libraralien pointed me towards this comm after a conversation about Taskmaster, Mock the Week, and Ed and James. I used to lurk in several comms on LJ and on forums for sketch groups (including Pappy's and Penny Dreadfuls), but now I mostly just watch stuff that comes to me via YouTube because I'm old and tired.

I had a Dreamwidth account but associated with an email address that doesn't seem to exist so this is a brand new one.

Hello! I've been a fan of British comedy for a good 15 years now and am currently massively into Taskmaster. I also love WILTY. The last British comedian I actually got to see in person was Simon Amstell and he was fantastic.
