Who can participate?

  • Participants MUST be middle and high school students in Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland. 
  • Can be in groups of up to four students, or work individually.

 

**Please Note**

  • Due to its Privacy Policy, Devpost does not allow users under 13 years of age to register on their website.
  • If you are under 13 years old, you can STILL participate in Brook Codes 2022, however, your parent/guardian MUST have registered for Devpost on your behalf.
  • Students that are under 13 years old can ONLY submit their projects on Devposts if their parent/guardian registered for Devpost on their behalf.

 

Submission Deadline: The deadline to submit your project is on Sunday, October 9th at 2pm. Winners will be announced during our Award Ceremony at 4pm on the same day.

 

General Rules:

  • Don't use an old project, start something new instead!
  • Alcohol, drug, firearms, knives, and weapons (including toys) are strictly forbidden.
  • All participants MUST abide by the MCPS Student Code of Conduct and the Brook Codes Code of Conduct.
  • Brook Codes participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the hackathon at the discretion of Brook Codes organizers.

 

Policy on Harassment:

  • Our hackathon is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political views, previous hackathon attendance or lack of, and programming experience or lack of.
  • We do not tolerate harassment of Brook Codes participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate at Brook Codes 2022, this includes participant projects, talks/presentations/demos, workshops, social media, and any other online media.
