I love it when the internet is right there with me. Today I thought to myself, My, I feel like listening to Self Esteem, but not being subjected to sexist YouTube comments about how the song is hilarious/about nice guys, since it is actually a, um, pretty damned serious song. I suspect I am not the only girl with this opinion; I shall check.
And for once, I went looking for girls covering songs, and the internet provided not one, but two pretty good covers. Neither of them gets the mood right (I feel like a really badass, all-girl band needs to do an appropriately depressing, laid-back, resigned version), but still.

In other news, I remembered that I used to be amused by a cappella versions of punk songs, and am now giggling at them. Also I am pretending, badly, that I don't still really like some of them. That is all.
