LOCATIONS

LOCATIONS
WELCOME TO WHISPERING ROCK PSYCHIC SUMMER CAMP
[ 1. ] Parking lot - What is says there on the tin. This is the parking lot just inside of the front gate. Campers are asked to refrain from jumping on Coach Oleander's truck lest they find themselves with the minds of infants. [Reference Images: 1 ]

[ 2. ] Reception Area - The first place you see upon your arrival! Here is where you sign into the camp proper and are taken to the camp meeting area which consists of several log seats and a small auditorium. This is the place most all of camp's important announcements are made as well as where everyone meets at the end of the night to do head counts. Camp songs and marshmallows are optional. [ Reference Images: 1 2 ]

[ 3. ] Camp Cabins - Where you'll be sleeping every night! Every camper gets a bunk and a trunk to keep their things in. Each cabin has six bunks so we hope you like who you get stuck with. Cabins are NOT co-ed. [ Reference Images: 1 2 3 ]

[ 4. ] Grand Hall - The Grand Hall is the location of the camp's kitchen. It's a large cabin filled with tables with a small stage at the end. It's also the location of the camper's lounge, which is where all the computers are kept. There is also a small TV too, if you're retro enough. The kitchen doubles as a camp store as well, and it's where you can buy lots of important gear for your brain missions. All you need is a good handful of arrowheads. [ Reference Images: 1 2 3 4 ]

[ 5. ] Coach Oleander's Classroom - No man's land. Rather, the first obstacle in your stay at Whispering Rock. Oleander's domain is positioned high up in the trees. Remember: don't be late. Once you clear Basic Braining, the rest of the camp becomes open to you. [ Reference Images: 1 2 3 ]

[ 6. ] Lake Oblongata - What camp isn't complete without a lake? Swimming and boating are the main activities here. Agent Vodello will also sometimes host her levitation class out on the docks. It's pretty big so seeing what's on the other side is hard. Luckily the portion belonging to the camp is roped off from wandering and curious eyes. There are rumors to what lurks on the other side, not to mention talk of a legendary lake monster that stalks te shores. [ Reference Images: 1 2 3 ]

[ 7. ] The Geodesic Psycho-Isolation Chamber - An artifact from days long gone. The GPC is a structure built to contain and nullify psychic brain waves, creating what was essentially a Psychic Solitary Confinement. It was built decades ago during what was probably the cold war era when the Government first turned their eyes towards psychics. It's long since been abandoned, now labeled unethical by most. It's still operational for the most part, so hopefully no one will get thrown in on accident. [ Reference Images: 1 2 ]

[ 8. ] Sasha's Secret Lab - Secret only in name. It's on the camp map. Sasha, favoring solitude, built his headquarters under the GPC, where he studies and conducts various experiments. Sometimes he will conduct special training for students he finds exceptional, tasking them with finding a way into his lab. [ Reference Images: 1 ]

[ 9. ] Milla's Lab - Built into the bed of the lake. It's really only accessible by use of the bathysphere (or maybe a creative psi-shield). However, once you get there it's one of the snazziest most inviting places in camp. Groovy. [ Reference Images: 1 ]

[ 10. ] Lili's Lab - Shut up, she didn't authorize the zip-line from Raz's lab. On a small path just after the carpark there's a greenhouse with a sign saying 'NO PYROMANIACS'. This is where Lili holds her classes so hope you brought your hay fever tablets, boys and girls. [ Reference Images: 1 2 ]

[ 11. ] Raz's Lab - Don't listen to Lili, she's a liar. High above the car park, overlooking much of the camp, is Raz's lab. Getting there is a challenge, due in part to the fact that he doesn't utilize ladders and instead has tight ropes-- much like the ones all over camp-- leading up to it, as well as the rock ledges that can be climbed with some difficulty. It gets worse when you realize your Pyrokinesis class is held in a literal tree house. Watch where you're aiming! [ Reference Images: 1 ]

[ 12. ] Wilderness - The less inhabited, woodsy area of the camp. It's a good place for hiking, hunting for arrowheads, and making out. It's typically quiet but watch out for the native inhabitants. They're not always friendly. [ Reference Images: 1 ]

Places not on the map

[ 13. ] The Sanctuary - A complete secret. It's the Psychonaut hub of the camp, not that anyone below junior counselor status knows that. It's buried deep under ground within the heart of the psitanium deposit. It hosts a giant room filled with monitors and computers used to track everything the Psychonauts are doing. It is maintained by a lone dispatcher who mediates between the actual headquarters and camp. Entrance is tricky, and only those really curious would be able to find it. [ Reference Images: 1 ]

[ 14. ] Thorny Towers Home for the Disturbed - Years and years ago, during Whispering Rock's less than spotless history there stood an insane asylum on the other side of the lake. It stood in decay for several decades until it mysteriously exploded. Asking the counselor's doesn't get much of an answer, it seems most of them don't like talking about it. All that lies over there now is a big pile of rubble and garbage. Regardless, the place is pretty creepy and gives off an overall bad vibe. It's also off limits to campers.

Komui's Lab

(To be placed to the left of 12, at the junction of the two cliffs meeting)

Komui's lab can be found when wandering the edges of the wilderness. The door attached to the front of the abandoned mineshaft is covered with signs warning trespassers to KEEP OUT as it's TOP SECRET and full of DANGER. Adventurers should heed these signs, since even if you resist poking the arcane machines set about the walls there's still the risk of slipping on the blueprints spreading across the floor from Komui's desk or tripping on the mine tracks he's yet to pull up.

N's Lab

[To be placed out behind 10, in the thick woods.]

N's lab is as much in the woods (and far from camp) as he could manage, and the native wildlife--so to speak--is particularly populous around there. In typical N fashion, the lab is a mathematical structure, though it frankly looks like an architectural nightmare: the unholy fushion of a very small castle and half a ferris wheel, interwoven with plant life. Inside it's actually white and spacious, if... cluttered. He just puts everything on the floor, apparently.

Try not to touch anything.

Martin's Lab

(To be placed above the lakeshore, between straight north of 9 and the pink trees respectively.)

Up on a hill by the lake is a little tower built out of wood, brick, and sheet metal. Pull the doorbell cord at the base to set a series of pullies in motion to drop a large bucket on some ropes to the ground and haul you up to Martin's Whispering Rock workshop, a cozy, paper-and-contraption-strewn place that looks - and smells, for whatever the window along the back wall doesn't do - the part. But don't mind the mess, clear a space and make yourself at home - the kettle's sizzling off to the side for tea for two.

York's Lab

[To be placed WNW of 12, nestled into the forest: visible but not prominent.]

York's lab is fairly down to earth when you put it up next to some of the other labs: for all intents and purposes, it's a simple log cabin in a clearing up by the cliffs. Inside are a few chairs for campers to sit during training, a desk with a coffee maker, a filing cabinet, and a typewriter for his personal use. There's also a back room with a bed, but that's off-limits to students.

Bro's Lab

[To be placed W of 8.]

Bro’s lab lays obnoxiously close to Sasha’s, though it doesn’t appear to. In fact, it barely appears. The entrance is built right into a hill knotted with the roots of some of the nearby trees. Think hobbit-hole, but more camouflaged. Once you’ve figured out where exactly the entrance is and enter, it’s actually a pretty average looking apartment and you kind of feel like an asshole for going to all that trouble looking for it.
