Readers Meet the Author, a series presented by the Office of the President and Office of the Provost and hosted by the University Libraries, encourages opportunities for faculty, staff, students, and others to gather for shared reflection and collegial conversation about big ideas. Our next Readers Meet the Author session features Beth Allison Barr, the James Vardaman Endowed Professor of History, and her recently published, "Becoming the Pastor's Wife: How Marriage Replaced Ordination as a Woman’s Path to Ministry" (Brazos Press, 2025), on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Schmacher Flex Commons of Moody Memorial Library, and virtually via Zoom Webinar. Dr. Todd Still, the Charles J. and Eleanor McLerran DeLancey Dean and Holder of the William M. Hinson Chair of Christian Scriptures, will converse with Barr about her work.

The Keston Center for Religion, Politics, and Society, the Department of History, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures, and the International Studies Program proudly welcome Dr. Scott Kenworthy, Professor of History and Associate of the Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies, Miami University, and author of "The People’s Patriarch: Tikhon Bellavin and the Orthodox Church in North America and Revolutionary Russia" on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. in the Treasure Room of the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum and virtually via Zoom Webinar to deliver this year's Keston Center Lecture, "The Patriarch vs. the Revolution: Defending Religious Freedom in Early Soviet Russia.” This event is free and open to the public. Since 1953, Dr Pepper Hour has been a long-standing tradition of the Student Union. Each week students, faculty and staff to come together and socialize while enjoying a refreshing Dr Pepper float. Dr Pepper Hour is held every Tuesday during the academic year between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Barfield Drawing Room of the BDSC.
