PREMISE

you wake up when you hit the floor in a dark room, and the air is knocked out of your lungs. the carpet is threadbare, worn with use, kind of dusty. and you're not the first person to endure this crash landing. nor will you be the last.

once your vision rights itself, you can see the well-lit hallway through the doorjam straight ahead of you. not to say there’s monsters in the shadows, but something propels you towards that door and out into the bright hallway beyond.
and once outside your room, you can hear it: the steady thrum of rain outside.

there's a suitcase with your name on it, and a room reserved just for you. downstairs in the main lobby, you find a group of strange, constantly smiling clerks and bellhops, all with nothing but your best interests at heart and a strange disregard for your panic. don't worry, they've seen this all before.

and however many questions you may have for them, they've only got one for you.

("why isn't there a front door? hey, hey i'm talking to you -" )

Welcome, good sir or madam.

Check In is a small, panfandom roleplay game based in an isolated countryside hotel surrounded by perpetual rain and fog. Your character will arrive with a suitcase and a room, and if they're smart, a sense of impending doom that is not alleviated by the happy go lucky, unconcerned hotel staff all too intent to serve you but not let you out. There is no promise of home, and no real explanation. If asking who, what brought your character here, the only answer they will receive is a wistful sigh — oh, the Generous. The game is primarily character driven, with the occasional modplot sprinkled in here or there for flavor, where characters will learn to adjust and cohabitant.

Or else will be asked to pay their bill.
