Who: Phil Coulson, Antoinne Triplett, Grant Ward
When: May 25th-ish?
Where: Ballroom!
What: A little pest problem
Warnings: Grant Ward?
Coulson arrives at the ballroom after breakfast. He moves one of the stacked table and chairs so that there's sitting room for him and Ward (and standing room for Trip). He'll be seated and idly browsing on his tablet. By the time Ward arrives, he'll be looking up and leaning back in his chair with an insincere smile (along with that blasted bruise on his temple) plastered on his face.
"Sorry. Didn't feel up to visiting your room. I did like your little invite though."

His mouth curls and he clenches his hand into a fist but when he's back in there he's calm and composed. Kara can't know. They'd...twist her to their advantage somehow and he has to explain...
Really it's the thought of losing her that makes him hesitate about bringing her to this meeting. Next one.
Back when they're in SHIELD'S good graces so he can figure out just who sold out Kara.
So he could take revenge.
Satisfied with the plan he straightens and comes in wearing his prison scrubs and his jacket.]
It's a much more impressive office then you had before. I'll give you that much. Leaves things a bit exposed for my taste though.
[But what can you do.]

John Garrett had mentored Triplett into becoming a formidable agent, but being an agent didn't define who Trip was. At least, he didn't see it that way. It was the man underneath that made the agent.
Every decision wasn't based solely on training but a combination of logic and ethics, using what skills learned as an agent to back his choices. No excuses made or blame to place on bad calls. Trip wasn't that guy. He would never be that guy. He'd never stacked up to Grant Ward and had been fine with that even before the truth came out on who both Garrett and Ward were. His only regret was not figuring out their true colors sooner.
The lives that would've been saved. Even if it meant his own.
Distrustful eyes followed Ward the moment he entered the room. Unlike his boss, there was no sign of amusement on his features. Trip was also armed with two knives hidden out of view if the traitor tried anything.
"Right. You like hiding. No surprise there."

That said, the seat he left for Ward does leave Ward with his back facing the door.]
We've got nothing to hide or are you worried your new friend's going to find out you've been talking to SHIELD?

[Ward guesses, perhaps. The question of how much, or how little of his motivation remains. Thanks to the...devices a lot of the things he set into motion were now bunk - as Ford might have said. Excepting Skye.
but he couldn't take chances.]
He'd be stupid if he didn't know. The question is - how much and what about. What he has suspicions about and what he doesn't know for sure.

[ Sorry, Coulson. Trip is losing his patience. Talking to Ward always felt like an exercise in futility. It isn't as if Trip would believe what he said. In all honesty, he doesn't understand why they're even having a conversation with the delusional asshole but it's not his call. Coulson is the one who died and still his boss as far as Trip was concerned. ]

Tell me what you know, Ward. And why you wanted to talk.

[He's ice cold. calm even.] after Skye attacked me I realized she had abilities. He doesn't know she's the one that has them. She can use them to attack him.
Knock him out, then - you guys rush in.

What kind of punk ass plan is that?! It all comes down on someone else doing the dirty work? You think we can't remember the last you helped bring someone in? The hell Skye ends up like Victoria Hand!
[ His words were filled with contempt but Trip kept a controlled volume. He looked to Coulson, ultimately keeping to his place. ]

Trip's right. We have enough personnel on hand to take him down. All we need to do is find him.
[more importantly, he takes on a less pleased expression]
What do you mean 'he doesn't know she's the one with powers'? What did you tell him?
