Well. A lot has been going on lately and I've been worried for a lot of people.

One of my best friends wound up with a blood clot last weekend. She went to the hospital and stayed there for about 4 days. Never fun. Thankfully the doctors are taking very good care of her, not to mention that she is one tough lady. She worried us all but she'll be fine.

After all the business with my dad and getting him through chemo, now we've found out mom has a cancerous tumor in her breast. Stage 1 thankfully. The docs say it's treatable with surgery, chemo and radiation, not necessarily in that order. They'll also have to take some of the surrounding lymph nodes which will mean she'll need to be extra protective of that arm. But it's sounding like a good prognosis so far. Please cross fingers just the same.

With her laid up and recovering, I suppose I should learn to cook. I don't trust my father to cook evening meals for her. His idea of a balanced meal is cornbread & buttermilk followed by a whole jar of pickles. So in the kitchen I'll be. There should be some most spectacular stories as I try not to kill myself or others.

Also found out one of my mom's friends lost her husband to a heart-attack this morning. Very unexpected. He was asleep in his recliner though so at least he went easy. Not much consolation for her, I'm afraid.

I know there are a lot more of my friends who are having rough times right now with their and their families' health, job searches, financial difficulties and more. Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you guys and sending all the good vibes I can your way. Love to you all.

Oh man. I believe in your learning to cook, Wendy-bug. Cookbooks are your friend! I had to do that for my father, back when I was still living with my parents, and my mother was in the hospital for a month. I had to make sure that my father and brother actually ate nourishing meals, because left to their own devices they would just not eat. o_O

I will pray for and think about your family. :( <3 <3 <3 I'm really glad that you're keeping up with the medical community, though! MAKIN SOME CONTACTS, keepin it real!
