[It wasn't just that he didn't remember coming to this place. It was that his surroundings didn't do anything to jar any memories of the chain of events that had led him to wake up on a practice field. Conan made his way through the seemingly abandoned base, his footsteps and the wind the only sounds he could hear. Whatever had happened must have been shocking, he reasoned. The trauma seemed complete -- for all intents and purposes he might have been seeing the buildings he passed for the first time.
