Dear Writer,

First of all, thank you for giving me things! I love things, and I love people who give me things. ;)

So let me tell you the kinds of fic I like:

I love stories about love.

I am an avid shipper. It's easily 95% of the fic that I read. I love friendships, couples that started out as (best) friends or colleagues and that grow into more. I love couples that don't know each other at all at the beginning and that fall in love in the course of whatever it is they're doing (in general, I tend to prefer fics in which characters get together rather than established relationships, but you do you!). I love fluff, I love clichés—in moderation—, I love angst—also in moderation. I love UST more than I love most things in life, and I love scenes where that UST gets released, no matter what the rating (anything from G to E is perfect). I love adventure! If the relationship's in the background of some really awesome adventure or plot, I will love you until the end of time. I love fix-it fic, and episode tags, and missing scenes. And if you feel like drowning me in tropes, I will thank you on my knees.

In science fiction, I love alternate universes. I love people getting stuck, as long as they find their way home. I love families! In particular I love those that aren't families to start with, that grow together while Stuff happens.

In general, I like people taking care of each other, giving each other comfort. I love when people touch, or hug, or kiss, no matter if it's as lovers or as friends. I love people putting their hands on each other's back, or dragging them by the arm somewhere. I love people who know each other so well they can read each other like a book. And I love those moments when they can't. Moments when they fight, especially if they make up afterwards.

I love witty dialogue, and banter, and bickering. I love jokes. I love canon, and adding to it, though I also love a good AU. I love anticipation, I love teasing, I love happy endings. I love stories in which everyone gets to live. I love science and people who know how to use and explain it. I love character studies and introspection. I love quiet moments. I love women more than I can say.

So it's probably not that hard to please me, and I promise I will like everything you write for me, unless you kill off all my favourites. ;) Oh, and non-con is a big no for me. Other do-not-wants: Character bashing*, gore/violence, werewolf AUs, alpha/omega-type things, and for smut, heavy BDSM / D/s themes, watersports / scat / blood play.


Specifically, I have asked for the following fandoms and would be particularly interested in any of the following prompts.

Salvation (Grace Barrows, Darius Tanz) → For these two dummies, I would LOVE some canon and canon-adjacent fic. I thought the show and ship were pretty damn perfect the way they were, though I certainly wouldn't mind, say, an alternate first kiss (because I love first kisses). If you feel like writing smut, PLEASE DO, as there isn't any as of yet. Otherwise, I would love post-finale fic! What happens to them now? Plotty adventure-type fic with canon amounts of romance would make my year. Or really anything you can think of. There's maybe ten fics for this ship out there, so there's really nothing you can write that I wouldn't love.

The Worst Witch (Hecate Hardbroom, Pippa Pentangle) → As canon and I don't really get along since "Bad Magic", I would love anything that ignores that whole mess (or fixes it, if you're so inclined). For this ship, I love AUs, so if you've always wanted to write that librarians/coffee shop/non-magical teachers/[insert idea here] AU, go for it! Just please don't let Hecate suffer any more than she already has, poor bb. I just want her to be happy, preferably with Pippa? Which seems to be too much to ask in canon... * I said above that I don't like character bashing, but Ada Cackle is my one exception. Go on and kill her off if you feel like it.

Jurassic Park (OT) (Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant) → Jurassic Park is both one of my favourite books and my favourite film, and Ellie Sattler is easily one of my favourite characters of all time. I love her with Alan--both the friendship they have in the books and the romantic relationship they're portrayed as having in the films, so if you'd rather not write anything romantic, that's fine by me; and I also love her on her own. So if you're not big on Alan, feel free to leave him out and focus entirely on Ellie. I don't really have any prompts for this fandom, but I'd love some adventure-type fic where Ellie kicks ass. I've seen all the films, so feel free to write a crossover, if you're so inclined, or put Ellie into situations from the other films. As long as she is the focus, I will love whatever you write. Any Ellie/Alan romance or friendship would just be a bonus.


Those are all just suggestions. If you have an entirely different idea, please go for it! Surprises are the best.

I haven't updated this thing in aaaages. I'm sorry. :/ But I have been reading all of your posts each night before going to sleep. ♥

Nothing much interesting has happened in my RL, except for having been adopted into a new sub-team at work and getting to work with lots of new, lovely people. Also, I now have a crush on a co-worker. Funtimes. We also did some more work on our flat, it looks even better now, and I'm so happy. And even happier because of our summer trip plans, but those deserve a post of their own.

Let's talk fandom instead, y/y?

MAJOR CRIMES IS BACK ON MONDAY!!!! Well, Tuesday for me, but IT'S SO CLOSE!!! I want to jump up and down and yell. My showwwww is baaaack!

Thanks to my buddy Alloi's rec, I marathoned all of Grace and Frankie this weekend. Totally worth it. I love everyone, but most of all I love Jane Fonda. Which I did not see coming, but there we have it. Can't wait for season two, although Alloi today revealed to me it would be another year until we'd get more episodes. Not fair, Netflix! (Sidenote: How much do I love Netflix? MORE THAN MOST THINGS ON THIS PLANET, LET'S BE REAL. I love that we get new (Netflix) shows over here the same day that the Americans get them, it's so great!)

Speaking of Netflix, I'm impatiently waiting for Sense8 on Friday. I was already sold when I heard JMS was involved in the whole thing, but I watched the trailer last night and it looks amazing. Praise Netflix shows.

(Then I started Penny Dreadful, also on Netflix, but I'm not entirely convinced yet. I am convinced, however, that Eva Green's face is perfection. More on that front when I've finished the first season.)

During one of my Cougar Town rewatches a while back, I found myself utterly enamoured with Christa Miller, so I spent a few hours days watching all of her Scrubs episodes. Her character there is pretty much the first version of Ellie Torres, so that was fun.

I have yet to watch the Outlander season finale (?) and the episode before that, but I'm defs looking forward to seeing where it goes. At some point, I also have to talk about the finales of both Agents of SHIELD and Person of Interest, but I need more of my brain to be awake for that.

And last, but certainly not least, I HAVE TICKETS FOR JURASSIC WORLD ON OPENING DAY. I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED I MIGHT PUKE. JUNE 11. TEN MORE SLEEPS. ♥.♥

We all know how much I love Aaron Sorkin. But if there's one thing that bothers me about him, it's how repetitive he can be.

With all the stuff that's been going on lately, I haven't talked about DS9 yet at all. Gotta change that immediately. There might be spoilers in here, vague or not-so vague, up till early season seven, which is where I am right now. I just watched the baseball episode (which was DELIGHTFUL).
