first things first, Chara is very much a walking spoiler for Undertale! the game is ten years old by now so I assume that most anyone who would be concerned about being spoiled has already learned everything anyway, but I'm just going to put that out there to err on the side of caution just in case that anyone's being pulled in fresh via exposure to Deltarune making them want to check out the other game that the annoying dog made!

likely in an average thread the spoilers will not be very overt, and I'll likely dodge around endgame plot stuff anyway by default, but this is your warning that general Undertale spoilers are going to be a likely eventuality when threading with them.
content warnings
Chara, on account of their backstory and some of the overarching themes of Undertale, is a character that very much comes with a few warnings attached!

♥︎ child abuse - it is never specified to any actual degree, but Chara's backstory pre-Undertale very heavily implies this. Chara's sense of humor can trend dark; while they are very private and therefore unlikely to bring it up off the cuff with any real degree of seriousness even with closer CR, in certain situations I can easily see them discussing it in a flippant, black humour manner.

♥︎ suicidal ideation - they are a ghost. they are very much a dead child, with a not so great opinion of humanity including themselves. their backstory explicitly contains at least two attempts, one of which being the successful one that after a series of events is what rendered them in the state you find them in the game in. while their state of mind at their current canon-point is better than it was when they made the attempts, it is still a subject that may come up with closer CR.
behind the mask
they are a Yamask! the species has the fun lore of being able to possess those who wear their mask. if or when this happens I typically prefer to play it as a subtler sort of thing, where their voice and thoughts are easily mistaken for your own running internal commentary (or not, if you're not as sardonic as they are, in which case maybe it's more like intrusive thoughts instead). in theory they would be able to control the body of whoever they're riding along with, but in practice this is highly unlikely to come up outside of particularly dire circumstances.

anyway, their little possession deal is always going to be opt-in, and if you have any specific limits or requests for how much you do or don't want them to be able to catch or do during their time in someone's head just let me know!
