Um. Im rugged as fuck [ hahahaa... ] but i never imagined i would be asked to put together a tedious-technical-bomb-thinger-ma-jigger with a stranger.

Is this old stuff for you or are you learning new things too? Were all from different lives. Im merely wondering. [ aaand secretly he's hoping he's not the only one who doesn't feel cut out for some of these missions. ]

You'll have to adapt. I don't imagine this is the kind of field anyone here has a lot of experience in. [ planetary destruction as a whole, not super future glitter bombs ]

Um right. I reckon i wasnt certain of the pickle id be getting myself into when i agreed to this.
[ not to mention he's a gullible little shit. ]
no subject
Did you not get the full disclosure contract? [ he knows plenty were brought in without the whole story being laid out to them first. ]
no subject
FROM: english.jake@cdc.org
Not particularly.
Im not a military person. Ha. Um. There arent many skills i have. Im quite insignificant honestly. Its a mystery to me as to why it is i am here and i am sure other people are thinking the same.
no subject
There's plenty with no applicable skills, but they have other benefits. Combat, marksmenship, stragety - that can all be trained and taught.

...but not to kill things! ]
FROM: english.jake@cdc.org
I reckon they just see what they like and try to have you for their own benefit.
no subject
Or they're just filling a quota and don't care which of us are useless. You could probably ask any of the instructors.

FROM: english.jake@cdc.org
Right uh. I suppose i could if i really wanted to.
FROM: english.jake@cdc.org
Do you remember when they recruited you? What did they say to you?
no subject
Full disclosure, sign a contract, help destroy planets, get what you want in the end.

I never expected to study medicine or start taking shifts at the medtent. I don't think I would have started doing it if it wasn't suggested to me
[ As for what he expected? Ivan doesn't know and isn't sure he remembers exactly what he did expect. ]
no subject
But youre here studying medicine! Um. Thats wonderful.
But im sure its a new skill set that youre discovering about yourself.
no subject
I have a really good teacher. I think she's the reason I'm getting any of it. And everyone else who offer to help too
[ He also does a whole lot of studying, but of course, Ivan doesn't factor that in. ]
no subject
Who teaches you things like that?
no subject
Um, Mothership is my main instructor. There's also Arbuckal, Anders, and Brink at times
[ And also others may be on that list as this was based of this mayhem. ]
no subject
Wowzers. So you just got lucky having that many people willing to assist you with things.
no subject
Yeah, I'm still not sure how it happened, though it's more that I'm trying to assist them with the little things that I can do

>idk about u but im not gonna punch a planet out anytime soon

Alas but no!
It cannot be a simple explosive device. We have to do all of these other tasks and pardon me i aint complaining i just..
02
feel very insecure about my abilities.
I also dont want my body parts to rain from the sky like some of our other comrades.

>you survived a giantass island full of monsters

>ur better @ this shit than u think

Um well thank you for the support i suppose but this shit is far beyond merely polishing pistols and having a gunslinging ripsnorter time with a couple ole vermits.
no subject
>ur skilled enough 2 survive the combat until you pick up the other stuff
no subject
Erg. Im glad you think that of me roxy but im not sure if i agree with you.
FROM: english.jake@cdc.org
Especially under such weather conditions and under such demanding instructors.

(1)
I wasn't expecting anything because nobody TOLD me what to expect! I had no clue what I was signing up to do.
(2)
But all of this is really, really different to what things were like back home. I'm learning a lot so some stuff is easier/not as scary as it was at first, but it's still hard.

IS SHE SERIOUS. ]
Your confidence is much admired.
no subject
Something different?
FROM: hibari.kyoya@cdc.org
Less glitter, perhaps.
no subject
My thoughts precisely! Some tasks just seem preposterous but i suppose they have meaning in the long run?

I best should shut my trap i dont want anybody to get angry with me but i was just hoping i wasnt the only person feeling this even after ive been here awhile.

i was expecting less snow
FROM: strider.dave@cdc.org
theres absolutely no fucking reason for any planet to have this much snow
no subject
I wholeheartedly agree sir strider! Its much too chilled for my particular liking. Im accustomed to tropical weather so...
FROM: english.jake@cdc.org
Needless to say ill be thrilled to bits when this planet is gone.
[ a bit harsh but he's been here longer than you. ]
no subject
oh yeah thats right you would have grown up on hellmurder island with an active volcano at your doorstep
FROM: strider.dave@cdc.org
let me guess the first time you ever saw snow was when you set foot on this godforsaken planet
unless your land had snow on it too like jades i dont know
