Hello. This is a friendly reminder that if you suffer from nightmares I can help you. And in helping you you're helping me. If you're new and didn't know though - hi, I devour nightmares.(ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧
FROM: baku@cdc.org
The only catch is that by giving me permission I can see them. But it's a rule of mine that I don't speak about them. No, not even to you.
FROM: baku@cdc.org
The only thing you have to worry about is getting a good night's sleep. Scary, right? Feel free to contact me for more info.

Speaking of which. How have you been, Baku?
no subject
No different from usual, I guess. How are you?
no subject
I'm doing well. I think that must in large part be down to you, since I'm still not dreaming.
I'd been meaning to talk with you about it.
[She might have noticed, actually, that his dreams have been less intense since his stasis—though, of course, they're still bad.]

The same way you would eat something. But I go into the dream realm to do it.

You don't eat normal dreams?

You eat nightmares?
[BAKU WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL HIM THIS WHEN YOU FIRST MET.]

FROM: baku@cdc.org
I kind of have to, yeah.

Do you ever bother someone if it gets to be too much?

You devour nightmares? Explain.
[ although blunt, it's mostly just curiosity, from a soldier who has seen some shit in his time. he can't imagine wanting anything to do with nightmares, when he's lived through so much fuel for them. ]

Baku isn't just my name, but it's what I am. A dream devourer. I go into the dream realm, find a nightmare, and eat it.
FROM: baku@cdc.org
But only from those who pray to me - or here, where they just give me permission. I need it to survive like humans need their food to survive. Or what you need to survive.
FROM: baku@cdc.org
Does that help? Or do you want the tl;dr version?

[All assy commentary aside, though...]
[Seriously, eating nightmares? Even with all the other unlikeliness, it sounds like kid story stuff. He still needs time before his skepticism stops eating at him, but things are strange enough that he'll at least talk about it.]

I haven't had a full stomach in a very long time. But what people have offered here is enough to sustain me.

I can do that, sure.

[He's not offering because it's too invasive and he remembers seeing her first offer about this a long time ago, and ignored it then. But things have changed and he's interested anyway. For reasons..]

I go into the dream realm and find the nightmare, after the person goes to sleep. Once I find it, I eat it.

They get a good, dreamless night of sleeping and I get a meal.

I was told to contact you about writing poetry. I assume a haiku is some form of verse?

It's a short poem. The one I sent to everyone is a haiku.

action;
previously, he would never even considering doing something like this, solely for the fact that he doesn't want anyone ever seeing his nightmares. he knows what's inside them and they're all the things he doesn't want anyone knowing about him. but he's not functioning well enough now. he's grateful that he hasn't been sent on any intense missions lately, but there's no gaurantee that won't change. Baku is, at least, a friend. And has a decent amount of trust from Jack, granted, he never really trusts anyone completely. It takes a long several minutes before he makes a decision, and he's still half convinced he shouldn't. This is extending more trust to her than he has with really anyone else outside of Hanna and d'Artagnan here. Making it over to the section her bunk is in, Jack leans a shoulder against the doorfram, hands stuffed in his pants pockets. ]
Take mine.
no subject
She looks up, though, startled a little when Jack approaches - she'd been so into typing up a reply that she hadn't noticed - and that said a lot, with how comfortable she was with the people in the rover. She stares at him for a moment, before drawing her feet up and making room for him, should he want to sit]
Are you sure?
[she won't play dumb, but she will make sure]
