Seems we're uncomfortably wedged somewhere between the climax and the denouement of The Mist.
Which is a novella turned movie, by the way. If you don't know it, I wouldn't recommend looking it up right now.

Anyway, this fog stretches pretty damn high. In the sense that I didn't know fog had the capacity to dream big and reach for the stars, but there it fucking is.

Did anyone get a closer look at the light show by the statue?

[ for a moment after michelle gets the message, she frowns at her blackglass, and then she slips out of her bunk to go outside and find dirk. it only takes a moment, seeing as he's sitting on top of the rover, and she's all ready to give him a stern lecture on being outside at a time like this when she notices a girl with him and stops. she's never seen the girl before, and it throws her for a moment before she recovers, crossing her arms and frowning up at dirk. ]

You shouldn't be out here.

[Dirk turns to look over his shoulder and down at Michelle. Shit. Tell Jack he'll look after his sister and then draw her outside because he wanted to go sight seeing in the darker depths of Stephen King's imagination.]

Neither should you, no offense. [He looks at Roxy.] Oh, yeah. Roxy, this is Michelle. Michelle, this is Roxy.

[Roxy tilts her head in greeting.]

Tbh we're safer up here than you are. You have like no superpowers, right?

Well, I'm only out here because you are. If you were inside I wouldn't be here. [ michelle shifts her gaze from dirk to roxy and gives her a polite half-smile. ] It's nice to meet you, Roxy. No, I have no powers. Do you? [ they both look perfectly normal, but having been here for a couple weeks already michelle knows better than to assume that just because someone looks normal that they are normal. ]

Looked like lightening, though it didn't exactly behave like it. The static's an interesting touch, I'd make some ESD materials if I had the right shit to work with.
