Day 81 | 10:00
FROM: pilot@cdc.org
Hello everyone. This one is Pilot and he's already met or spoken to quite a few of you. He's currently a unit leader on Orange Team. He intended to have this started earlier, but the last month or so has been very hectic.
FROM: pilot@cdc.org
He realizes that we all come from very different backgrounds and very different worlds with varying levels of technology, some of which have nothing approaching the tools available for us while serving with the CDC.
FROM: pilot@cdc.org
He's spoken to a few others and we'll be hosting a few informal classes and instruction sessions to get everyone comfortable with the technology around us. Hopefully we'll be able to make everyone who would like to participate comfortable.
FROM: pilot@cdc.org
If you are interested in assisting with instructions, please let him know. The current instructors and a brief course description are attached to this file. We will schedule based on interest/number of participants.

FROM: pilot@cdc.org
On an unrelated note, does anyone have any meat they are willing to share?
[OOC: This the tech primer I briefly touched on back in this post five million years ago! Finally getting it off the ground. It's mostly for handwaving and so low-tech characters don't end up flailing around, wondering if someone can teach them anything. There's a top level on the calendar post for potential plotting or if you'd like to log something out. Please see the old OOC post if your character is interested in instructing or if you have questions!
ETA: Pimp my haroomba is now up under the OOC section!]

It's kind of you to organise such a thing.

What if we're comfortable with some things and not with others? Is it alright to pick and choose what to jump into?

Of course. 888]

How wonderful! Now that some of our chaos seems to have passed, I was planning on looking into these very topics to get myself familiar. This is quite well-timed, for which you have my thanks.
no subject
You're very welcome. Since we have free time aboard the Neheda, we figured it might be put to decent use.

This is a great idea. I always figured Midgar was pretty advanced but it pales compared to a lot of what's around here.
no subject
Yes! Although a lot of it is beyond us, even so. But we'll do our best to help get everyone up to speed.

I may need to familiarize myself with some of this world's technology I have not yet encountered. However I would be more than happy to help with instruction, if I am welcome to do so.
FROM: ansem@cdc.org
Especially if much of the instruction covers basics, rather than specifics.

We're happy to have more help. Besides, we're all learning.

I wouldn't mind helping out if you find yourself needing more instructors. Feeling kinda sorry for the poor bastards picked up from those underdeveloped worlds.

I could instruct if you still need teachers. I'm more versed in infiltration, but I can easily lead a class to give people the basics on this technology or mechanical engineering.

We may have more than enough instructors, but he'd still welcome any input and assistance you can provide.
