DAY 111 | 56:00
CALLING: BOTT, MARCO
TO: ALL
[The message begins with the unassuming sound of someone clearing their throat. He still can't help but feel a bit awkward addressing people that he can't even see, so he'll keep this short, sweet, and to the point.]
Hello, everyone. My name is Marco Bott. I have an important request to make. You see, in the attack that occurred on Day 100, I sustained a serious injury-- That is, I lost almost the entirety of my right arm. Noh-Varr has offered to construct a replacement for me.
However, in light of the fact that we don't have access to new supplies while we're here on Macha, I wanted to ask if anybody has extra materials they might donate, so that Noh-Varr can get started on the project. He's better able to explain what kind of materials he's looking for, so I'll let him take over here.
[ The device shifts hands. When Noh-Varr speaks, his tone is more businesslike. ]
Lightweight metals are preferred, for ease of movement. Aluminium and titanium, ideally, but I'll accept other transition metals for alloying purposes. Silicon as well, copper for circuitry and wiring, thermoplastics. If you have any of these in your possession and are willing to part with them, we can negotiate.
Thank you.
[Marco's voice cuts in again, earnestly.]
Yes, thank you-- Any help is sincerely appreciated.

You decided to go with it after all?
FROM: elric.edward@cdc.org
I'm able to pull those materials from ores in the ground, but I don't think I can transmute enough for an automail arm without tearing up the place. You'll probably still need more.
no subject
I wish I knew the composition of Macha's crust, but I'll take your word for it. How much do you think you can pull?

We could always travel out from camp a ways to transmute some metal. I don't mind walking a few miles to do it away from camp.

Steel could be useful to add strength.

I handed my blades over to the former commander but we could add some of them to our materials too.

There's a section of one arm of my envirosuit that's completely useless to me, but you could repurpose the raw materials. Some wiring, small titanium parts, carbon fibre casing, a few things like that.

Don't worry-- I'm doing all right, Peter.

Got it from Dagger. I think its called mithril.
Its easy to work with but real strong too.

Easy to work with? Is it pliable?
[ He's discovering metal compounds he's never worked with before; it's interesting and something of a relief. He'll be able to edit his designs to make use of the stuff, definitely.
