DAY 121 | NIGHT
[The lights are familiar, welcome and not. She knows that things are moving faster, and the last time they'd seen them they hadn't gotten a whole lot of time before things kicked in to high gear. Which meant that she had no idea when the next time they'd get a free minute would be.
She doesn't exactly put a ton of thought into it before opening up her blackglass and starting the message. It's not like the damn things would be all that useful up on the ship, and if things went the same way they had on Ajna, people were going to need as much practice as they could get before then.]
CALLING: TESS
TO: ALL
Those of you who were around during Ajna might remember the paintball shindig that Sturmhond put together. Considering the light show it seems like the right time to repeat it. Anyone who wants to get some practice in with their guns without blowing all their ammo can show up at the forest on the edge of camp in about an hour for some paintballs. Yeah, it's dark, lucky for you they glow. Unlucky for you they also stain. Extra incentive not to get hit.
[There's an edge of hardness to the woman's voice, maybe something like impatience, but at least she doesn't sound half as angry as the last time she was on the network. There's a long enough pause it seems like she's finished, before she remembers-]
Oh, right, it'll be a free for all. And no prizes except a little bit of extra experience and less bruising. If you don't know which end is the one that fires, I'm sure someone will show you the ropes.
[Which about covered it. At least the hours of work would have some payoff, if anyone bothered to show.]
I guess I'll see you if I see you.
((The thread is here!))

Tess.
[ He sounds halfway amused, and halfway disappointed. How could you let him down like this? ]
You didn't even tell them to dress their best. We can't have CDC paintball without formalwear.
Especially not when it glows.

It didn't seem fair to the new kids. Unless you've got a couple dozen extra suits laying around... [Oh and she might be slightly serious, there.]

Sadly, I left most of my wardrobe on the Neheda. [ He doesn't sound like he's kidding. ]
So, is the plan to teach them how to handle themselves first, or are you leaving it open to a great, glowing free for all?

I'll assume a blaster is a gun? Anyway I'm sure there'll be plenty who need the help. Better you than me.

No... prizes....... 。゚(*´□`)゚。 へ[ •́ ‸ •̀ ]ʋ

The prize is that I don't show up at your rover later and shoot you with so many paintballs that pretty white outfit of yours never comes clean.
FROM: tess@cdc.org
So I better see you out there.

I don't like guns.

Ah, Dio. I've been wondering how well the glow in those paintballs would take to that hair of yours.
So kind of you to let me test it.

Why are you mean to me??

Really hope they all know which end fires by now.

I try not to get my hopes up.

[oh, what was that? what was that? a diamond in the rough, to be certain.]

Apparently. You can ask him what the hell he's on when you get out here yourself.

Can the paint be fitted for arrows??
Or for the crossbows??
no subject
You want to try to figure out how to tape them to the end of a blunt arrow you go right ahead.
FROM: tess@cdc.org
But in going to take from the fact you're asking that you could use the practice with your gun.

If I bring alcohol to share with the class am I allowed to watch or do I need to shoot people?

The word is 'get' Isha. You 'get' to shoot people. But I won't stop you from spectating, even if it is pitch black and foggy as hell.

Maybe. I wouldn't say no to the company. Besides, there's bound to be some people who need a little encouragement by the time this is done.

Uh-- hi. Are we putting the paint in the guns the CDC gave us if we show up...?
no subject
CALLING: TESS
Yeah, the paintballs are designed to work in them. Not sure they'd work with any of the other weapons around here.
