Please, if you still want me to make you a badge, or still have a vid recommendation, I need that info by Sunday. The vid show is already nearly 60 minutes long, but I've put in a few to get it there, so I could always drop something if someone else has a favorite they'd like to share. Also, the show does include 2 AI vids at the very end. There will be a slightly longer black out between the last of the regular vids and the AI ones. The are humor - one for Star Wars and one for Marvel Cinematic.
Monica is still our GM, so I don't expect any issues with the hotel, and that we will be treated as we've come to expect. I will open up our room around 8:30 each morning (Friday through Sunday) so you can eat breakfast in the lounge instead of with the mundanes. Those of you who swim in the morning: How early do you want access to the pool?
No one has brought up any more requests to change the panel schedule, so I'm going to lock it in Sunday night. I think I still need to hear from a couple of you about your craft workshop -- please, let me know a couple of choices for panels you're okay missing, so I can slot you in. I will post the final times next week, so people can download or save the file and bring with. (I will also have a few paper copies on site, but not one for everyone.)
I will be bringing some coloring books and pens/crayons, but not the whole selection as that's a couple of heavy boxes, and I just can do all the lifting anymore.
What to Expect From Vegas:
Most of you have been here before and so knows more or less what it's like. It *should* be cooler than July, but we've still been having 100-105 degree weather. The monsoon has been flirting with us over the last few weeks, and we get clouds and the occasional downpour, though nothing has lasted for very long. Cool lightning though. Does mean the humidity isn't always in single digits (so the heat index might be deceptive). Definitely bring something with sleeves to wear, if not an actual sweater/hoodie or coat for the evenings, and as air conditioning is still cranked up in many places and it could be cool if you're not moving around much. Pools are still a thing, so bring a suit if you want (though if you see lightning, even if it isn't raining on you, please get out of the pool).
Not lots of tourists this time of year, but there will still be some up on the Strip, and families or sports teams at our hotel. No major festivals our weekend (the I Heart Radio Music Festival is the weekend before us, and Life Is Beautiful got cancelled). The VGK (preseason) game is Thursday night in town, so there might be a significant uptick around T-Mobile (New York, New York) of traffic and the freeways getting there that night if you have plans (shouldn't really affect air travel, but it might affect ride sharing). The Raiders play at the DeathStar Sunday afternoon, so if you're catching a flight home Sunday afternoon/evening, expect some extra company and heavy traffic getting to the airport if the timing works out poorly. Vegas is *always* a busy airport, so don't cut your arrival times short and think you'll squeak through. Haven't heard anything about Lyft or Uber shortages, but I'm sure there is still dynamic pricing and, like I said, two sporting events that might affect availability.
Crime and protests aren't getting local coverage as a major issue right now, but as always, be mindful of your surroundings and behaviors when you are out and about. So far we haven't had major ICE activity, but ... Don't leave anything in your vehicle that might look interesting and easy to sell, and make sure you lock up. Getting hit by cars is still a thing for pedestrians around town.

If folks are around at 3:00 on our Thursday, I can use help bringing stuff in - I'll need help with the heavy lifting, so if that's not your thing, it's okay. Please be in the lobby so I can snag you and so we can get the con goodies inside. (It'll be a car full of drinks, food, equipment, luggage, that normally needs two carts to carry it all. Or one and many people to supplement and hand carry something.)
