I'm guessing we don't have telemarketers here, go ahead and leave a message.
[there's a brief pause and then:]
...but if for some reason you are trying to sell something please know that I seriously question your priorities.
Okay, bye.

[voice]
This is a kind of a weird question to ask Connor-san, but I was wondering if you'd like to move in with Norman-kun and me in Heimdall. Our babysitter just left and I don't think we should be without adult supervision for long. You seem fairly normal for someone in Hel, and you're also from the States so you've got that much in common with Norman-kun! I'm also asking Sophie-san the same thing, so you wouldn't have to worry about being responsible for both of us just by yourself! Not that there's a lot of responsibility. Norman-kun and I can mind ourselves, most of the time.
Um, let me know if you have any questions? I know this is kind of weird, but please think about it anyway.

Are y'there?
Man, this thing has been like stupid right? I think I accidentally touched that ice too much, my fingers still feel frozen.
We should go out for ramen, yeah? I'm gonna get Gaara to come too.
I'm coming over there now. I can see your house.

[Day 334 (forward-dated because impatience) | Voice]
[Sorry, Connor, there's a couple of names above you on his check-in list. Only a couple, though.
There's a long silence, as though that's all he's going to say, but then he clears his throat.
Finally, he speaks up again.]
Any specifics I should know about?
Re: [Day 334 (forward-dated because impatience) | Voice]
For most people, that wouldn't be alarming. Maybe they didn't see it, or were going to answer and then got distracted, or just suck at returning messages. Not Connor. He answers calls promptly, he checks in when he says he will, he's home when he says he's going to be and calls when he's late.
There's no response to Pyro's message, not even a quick text back, and that means something is wrong.
Considering what just happened in Asgard, odds are it's something very wrong.
Your move, John. ]

but she also doesn't know how to not face connor, how to not have connor. so in the end, she goes home, turns the key and opens the door like it's just another day, like they haven't been mad and she hasn't been dead. she died barefoot and she's barefoot still, though her clothes are clean and her hair is untangled and she looks better than she has in weeks, too thin but not nearly so exhausted and hollow.
what she feels like is something else entirely.]
...Connor?
Re: 335
No one answers her call, except the cat, who weaves happily around mommy's legs. She looks freshly brushed and a glance to her corner of the living room says she has fresh food and water and litter... it's clear Connor has been home at some point.
If she steps farther in, she'll see that the door to her bedroom is open. ]

at some point before everything goes to hell
INTERESTING. VERY INTERESTING.
Still. You know... Assassin club.
Most notably, should Altair swing by Connor's window again, is that the book is never in sight. Whether or not Connor (or Sophie!) has actually looked at it is impossible to tell without asking, but it's never on the desk!
About a week passes, and then when Altair is opening the Haystack he'll notice there's a book on the counter. No signs of forced entry, everything that was locked the night before is still locked, yet there's a book on the counter. The book he left Connor, specifically, but with a different bookmark in it. It's a blank book checkout card from the Odin library with an ID number written on the back. Should Altair go look for the book assigned to it, he'll find a book on dark realms -- so called "hell dimensions." Altair's bookmark is placed towards the back, on a world called Quor'toth. There are some brief descriptions of the monsters that live there, and the page marked is about "The Destroyer." It's the only one blurb without an illustration. ]

H... hey! I just - wanted to thank you for before. I mean, what you did. I really appreciate it.
I hope you were okay during all of that.
[Even though Pyro thought otherwise, she's trying to stay hopeful.]

His box of chocolate will look, smell, and taste exactly like Freya's did, appearing right next to where Freya's was or is if you haven't picked it up yet. The only difference between the two is that Loki's won't lift your mood; it'll give you loud and embarrassing flatulence for the next three hours.

Anyway, I've been giving some thought to, telling you everything. The whole story, cut and print. And it's like, really, why not? Why shouldn't you know so you can stop it. Wasn't bloody kidding when I said you're the smartest person I know. Including Wes and the witch.
Did I tell you they made a movie about me? A couple, actually. I think it's a trilogy. Oh, that's-- you're not in it, it was written by my ex.
But I think you should know, I mean, I'd want to know if I was... dead, again. Even if it doesn't tend to stick as well for me. [ and you know, if illyria hadn't been around, it probably would have so. trading his life for fred's? not so bad.
oh fuck. did he just say that, out loud? like... oh god dammit. ] Sorry, sorry. I should've said that to you, in person.
