I found a weird thing in my bed this morning.

When I showed it to some of the locals to try to find out what it is, they literally started bowing and scraping, offering me free food and drinks, asking if I would hold their babies, and any number of other uncomfortable and embarrassing things.

Has anyone else found one of these? What is it?

It's a secondary form of currency, from what I can tell. Doubleneon sent one around the feast and ice-skating party. As weird as it sounds, I think it's only semi-diagetic; it's not earned in the same ways as credits are, and as you pointed out, the locals don't view it as normal currency. It's another marker of why we're not the same as them.

Do you know how someone earns one of these? And why did suddenly appear in my bed?

Not yet, and because it was programmed to be where you'd find it. I found one in my shoe this morning. Sinterklaas came late, it seems.

Yeah, I get that. You've got options though — middle name, pseudonym, that one name you thought of when you were 10 that you kinda wished your parents had given you because it was so much cooler than the one on your birth certificate, etc etc.

I tend to go with "beloved father figure", personally.

And in normal circumstances, the chances of running back into the same lady and kid are pretty slim, you know?

It looks like an alien artifact that would give you powers or whatever if you touched it or did something with it. Which I definitely don't have personal experience with, nope.

I've picked it up and carried it around and even put it in my pocket. So far I don't think it's given me any powers.
