Snowflake Challenge #12 - goals

.
January is traditionally a time when people set goals for themselves for the coming year, and even if New Year’s resolutions aren’t your thing, maybe you have something you want to achieve this year. Maybe that’s to finish a fic that’s been sat in your WIP folder for ages, maybe to learn a new skill, maybe to check out some new shows.

Challenge #12

In your own space, set yourself some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I almost never do New Year goals. However, there are a few things I want do do more of in general.

1) access the public library for books and other media.
So far, I have gotten 2 books and 1 audiobook. I have a graphic novel that arrived for me today!

2) pay more attention to birds.
I have a birdfeeding station in my yard already. I want to maintain it better and possibly add another feeder of a different type. I want to start tracking the birds I see; I got an app for that. I have about 20 birds added that are just common birds I know I've already seen.

3) sew more (or at all).
I started a long, quilted skirt recently. I can finish it! I have alterations I want to make to clothes that don't fit right. I've been part of a motivation sewing group online for years, but that doesn't actually help me.

4) return to dreamwidth.
Here I am, doing challenges! they are helping.

I loaded Libby on my phone and borrowed my first audiobook. Helps with the longish commute to work.

I'm also someone who doesn't set New Year's resolutions. You have a nice list of varied goals. I'm hoping to make a trip to the library soon too, as getting back into reading is one of mine.

Good luck! :D

Hooray for reconnecting with your local library. (They love it, too.)

Your other goals also sound fabulous, so I hope they bring you joy.

Yay!

Yeah, a different type of feeder/food can really help diversify the birds. Mixed seed, a large food like sunflower seeds or peanuts, a small food like thistle seed, and suet are good categories. Different shapes of feeder will attract different species too.

>> 3) sew more (or at all).

Those are good goals.

It's good to see you here! :D Some communities run challenges. You can also find lists of things to post questions one at a time.
