I'm just going to drop this gem of a conversation here:
Boss: Do you work 8 hours today?
Me: 6
Boss: You don't get a break.
Me: I get 15 minutes.
Boss: No. That's not a law. I only have to give you that if business needs permit.
Me: I'm still taking my break. I need to eat at some point.
Boss: No.
Me: I get really cranky if I don't eat....I need to eat at one point regardless....Still taking it.
Boss: I won't give breaks to people who demand them.
Me: *leaves conversation to take break*
....aaaaand you can go fuck off!
This what's wrong with my country today. THIS RIGHT HERE. We are far behind the other First World nations when it comes to labor laws. No one should have to work on an empty stomach. Period. Oh, next time I'm asked to stay late? Yeah. Fuck off.

Date: 2015-12-09 04:48 pm (UTC)From:That is really messed up. Over here it's the LAW to give people who work full time a break of at least half an hour. (Many expand this to an hour so that folks can go and grab a bite to eat in a restaurant or canteen.)
