-  S coming out with great stuff lately.  Tonight he had a nappy on (after he went to the loo twice and couldn't follow through, I wondered if it was performance anxiety as he's been fine with wee, so we put a nappy on) and was doing some incredible orchestral works down under ;) It was keeping us all quite amused.  Anyway, I asked if he was finished, and said that I'll clean him up and put a new nappy on (they were just about ready for bed), and he says:

"Oh, it's OK, Mummy.  I'm finished now.  I don't need another nappy.  Thanks though!"

Thanks though! That completely cracked me up.

-  He's going great with the toilet training.  Or whatever the politically correct term is for it nowadays.  We had a little accident today while we were outside playing, but no problem, and otherwise, he's been great at telling us when he needs to go.  I'm amazed at how much of a difference this is making to the number of nappies I have to wash.  Also, as another cute aside. T asked this evening for "Toy-wet!" and I went in to put her on, just to show her, but she was kind of "messy," so we had to have a clean up first.  Not that I expect it at all of her, but if she can toilet train early, I'm so not complaining.

-  We made popcorn today and the children were so overawed.  It was great :)

-  My parents have moved one lot of stuff down to the new place, and next weekend is the move proper.  I know they're both anxious in their own ways.  I'll be very glad when they're finally there.  Dad rang recently with their new phone number.  I found that quite weird.  I've been ringing this phone number all my life, and now it's not theirs anymore.  It's sad...

-  We had to go to C'link for an appointment on Friday.  M took Alain de Botton's The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work to read while we waited, but I think the aptness was probably lost on most people :P  Plus we were only there a couple of minutes before we were called in and it was all sorted out quite quickly.  I have found a few jobs to apply for and will spend an hour or so tomorrow sending off applications.  Until then, we will actually be OK with the benefits we'll get.  It's depressing, having us both on payments, but it's also a relief.  I'm just hoping to find work soon, because while we can live off it, I'd really rather not.

-  After a warm day, the children were exhausted, and after the bedtime story they both fell asleep quite quickly, so I was out of there by 7.30.  M had left a cuppa for me on the kitchen bench, and was outside, drawing, so I went out and joined him, and we sat together in the cool night air, watching as the breeze tickled the candle-flames and talking about home-made pinball machines, his sister and dad (Oh, that is a whole other story that I have to write about, because he recently got in touch with them - very exciting) and the children.  In between there were long, comfortable silences where I felt wonderfully content.
