i'm more inclined to believe meatloaf
If you want each other and love each other, but don't need each other, its too easy to walk away when things get too hard. that's the increasing case these days. people have been spending their whole lives convincing themselves that they don't need any thing and can be totally self-supportive and self-sustaining, that they believe it, and when a relationship hits its difficult stages, they simply remember how much easier it was living alone and move out.
if you need each other and love each other, but don't want each other (the most common situation in bad marriages out there), then extramarital affairs happen, among other things.
if you need each other and want each other, but don't really love each other, well, i wouldn't want to be one of the children of such a relationship...
all three have to be there for a relationship to last.
