Okay, so the bad news is the landlord is going with two other people for the management team, each with their own apartment, one to do the janitorial, one to be the handyman; neither of which I am prepared to do. However, if the handyman doesn't work out, then I'm the fallback. Meanwhile the handyman should be up later today to finish fixing my sink.

The good news is I have a list of things for them to do, for my apartment, for the building in general and there'll finally be someone to get it done.

I know our tenants, so I know how to deal with the "hard to deal with folks", so I'll see how this goes for a couple months and then check in the landlord to be a go between, for a reduction in rent. Either way, I think it's time to prepare for the tenants to unionise the building.

The chinese restaurant around the corner will soon be a Vietnamese place, hopefully to have Viet sandwiches, at least until the place around the block reopens.
The (New) Kings cafe has new owners and incredibly low prices and good food. "Breakfast all day". They'll do fine, as the Leland hotel should open later this year, which is across the street and the Star cafe, on the first floor of the Leland looks like it will be reopening with the same owner, is a burger joint.
