i successfullly stuck to my plan and slept through it (bad idea going into work today-needed rest).
what i found infinitely more illluminating was the interview with bill o'reily on the daily show. he gave, what i believe as, an insightful perspective on why the bush camp believe in, and hold to, their course.
has more historical value than these debates, imo.
I've tried a little bit, to ahem, vet, John Kerry's movie, Going Upriver, but so far the two sides are doing "he said, she said" and "all the video's, are staged." So I don't know yet "What really happened." But I can give you this:
Kerry has been thinking about how to get this country out of an ill advised war, since at least 1971. He articulated this in front of a congressional commitee, so staged or not, it's still been a point he's headed up.
In the debate clips I referred to, Bush says he's only allowed scientific use of the embryonic stem cells in question because they were already on the table (literally on ice) and he says he wants constitutional constructionists to be judges for the Supreme court. How nice for him.
It's strange, no matter who goes first, Kerry always seems to get the last word. Even if Bush actually gets the last word, he's responding lamely, to Kerry. Kerry just knows how to respond so it's always about *his* message.

I'll look for the O'reilly clips.
