Oct. 31st, 2004 12:35 pmI've been trying out
and while I welcome back Roger to complete the original line up, I have to say this: Acoustic would kill them, 'cause Simon seemingly doesn't trust his singing. Since his voice broke at Live Aid, I don't blame him.
Prognosis: Bubble gum pop. They've done better lyrics, they've done cleverer music. The lyrics aren't as visually inducive, certainly not as provocative, clearly recycling words for which Simon has sung before, so there's a certain confidence of "They liked this once before."
Don't, hit it again, do something expansive, grow, damnit. So, I call Chicken.
The back up band, which is to say the band, is actually quite a bit better than this showing, they should be given space to roll it out. Can you Say OverProduced? *POP* . Vocals aren't the same as a guitar, get off the pedals, it feels like training wheels.
Tight. Durany. Tricksie.
