I say this in a joshing manner, but [livejournal.com profile] rivetpepsquad is my hero. Can you say, "Oh, you want that where?" Too late, it's been moved. Bangarang with a snap. Noon-8pm? Longer? Works well with...otters.

I wish I could put out that much strength and ..pace? What pace? Pacing oneself is for sissies apparently. Which is a lead in to the quote of the day from Mitch "Rectangles..eh, sissies." Hear that all you lego kids of which I am one? How many monitors fit into the trunk of a car? More than look plausible.

I'm telling the story badly[livejournal.com profile] m4dh4tt3r was there, he'll probably relate it better. Happy Birthday, Madder. I'm glad I was able to make you laugh through the day. (I'm thinking he's got a good head for hats, mm, Birthday hat fund?)

It was one of those days where the lines for me, blur. Play? Work? Just rolling it. I kinda hope a picture of the first load comes out. Can you say "packed to the last 2 and a half inches?" Literally. There was a brain or three involved, I'd say the thing was Simonized [livejournal.com profile] angel_boi.

After it was stuffed (Me pick up stuff, no brainer) I think three of us tried to get this mattress corner in place before [livejournal.com profile] kryscats' husband asked to have something moved, the sort of thing where you have to lift and hold it for a moment, on the diagonal corner, to get the corner on the last piece up juuuust far enough. Like one of those kids games where you have to move the interconnected blocks around to make the puzzle come together.

Krys cracks me up, just by being her. There's this meow which comes from the stairwell, and I have another friend who meows, I know this sound, I couldn't tell you exactly what happened, someone passed too close, no where to go as someone came back up the winding stairs? Purfect emotive meow tho' and it comes out of nowhere because one can't see down the stairs, because of the twists and even though I'm carrying something on the landing of the stairwell, I'm trying not to roll against walls in laughter. People talk about "Plaintive" meows. This was undeniably *not* plaintive. We refer the class once again to here Kitty

I forgot to pack a couple of boxes, I kept thinking to do it during the down time, they let me sit out unloading at the other side for one round. Which frankly, was annoying (not at anyone) 'cause I was in full "Help mode." More accurately, "Let's get it *done*." mode. Various Staging areas? Lift it once. Put it in place once. DONE. They'll be squirreling the stuff left in weird places for days. Ughamonster, and I'd help, but I'm the pretend roadie in an hour and I know that'll take all day.

So they leave me to guard the garage to run a load over. They didn't leave me lonely and the company was awesome, so I'm thinkin' they somehow gave me the lil' dark star assignment of watching the gear with [livejournal.com profile] ousel. ([livejournal.com profile] djinnaya, I need to remember to drop by a Tenants' handbook to you for her household.)
Yes, people thought it might be a garage sale. Sure, we're selling the legs to a drafting table, uhuh.(grin).

Btw, earlier in the move a mopey goth walked by. Boots, Stockings which might have had a cobweb design, velvet dress and black leather with lots of patches with died (pun) black hair hitting the collar. Mopey Goth, barely took in who or what was loading the truck. Mopeys: Look up. She could have hung out and made new friends in 98 seconds or less. At least people to be friendly to at the next club. I'm less friendly at clubs, but you get my point.

I had this idea to bring back a couple litres of Mountain dew orange, but the store didn't have them and the store is empty half a block away, as I get there, a couple guys wander in, as I look for the large bottles, the line grows. Other than growing lines and two boxes unfilled, it was a good day with people who are more chill than I was prepared for. People with a certain amount of autonomy, working to get a project done, make for a happy camper erg.

The place Djinnaya has moved into is Niiice. It's funny in that way the buildings are where she is ("Now there's a good place for the cable..if you watch T.V. at the front door.") but the kids ( who am I kidding, look out for the adults on the Slip & Slide) have a backyard and a front yard and it's WAY bike friendly. I think they found the best sort of suburbia because it doesn't "feel" like suburbia at all.

It was a good day. I'd picked up a jacket, one of those prepster things from the Gap, at a thrift store, washed it and went along to the move. I might as well have mailed it to the playa. Came home to clean laundry and so I'm back in black & it's funny to look over at this rag (the clean laundry is being folded, the dirty laundry is in the basket) & I'm reminded of two moments; walking down the twisty stairs and Krys sneezing lightly behind me as the dust rolls over my head and back up the stairwell. (I got hit with a smaller dose as I put the thing down.) Yeup: alkaline = Playa. & the new owner of the building, the guy Djinnaya and Co. are escaping, rolling up in a minivan Suv sorta thing and saying "Oh, Oh, I guess I'm not getting the car out today." He has what I assume is a classic car covered in the garage. No, Mofo, (no offense Egan) see the entire house that's leaving? No, you ain't going for a Sunday drive on Saturday unless you're looking to help with the move. He looks a little resigned and turns the corner. Thank bro! Or as Jessica said "If he doesn't like it, I'd welcome a three day notice, but he's going to have to listen to me laugh out loud down the ('phone) line."

There are whole days in a row where I won't laugh & this one just kept the moments comin and going.

Just back from the rehearsal. It took 4 hours. Uhm. the gig is 15 minutes long, & it turns out the venue hasn't scheduled any time for set up, so part of the roadie team actually had to practice with a stopwatch. Not me, my part is checking to be sure the plug and play parts are where they belong and ..there's more but I'm zonked.

yeah!

Thanks again for all your help! It's been a couple days since we vaccumed the last of the fluff and left the keys. I'm glad to be somewhere new, tired of dealing with boxes, looking forward to being settled,

grateful that there were people to help!

Thank you much!
