The European Specialist Sport Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA) is the trade association representing the sports and active nutrition sector in the EU, UK, and Member States’ decision-making processes, as well as within the industry and media.

Our members include brands large and small, specialised manufacturers, suppliers and distributors.

ESSNA was founded in 2003 to promote a positive policy environment for sports nutrition products, safeguard the reputation of the industry and promote healthy living.

Today, ESSNA is recognised as the voice of the responsible sports and active nutrition sector in Europe and beyond.

Chair

Luca is a food risk scientist and expert in food and food supplement regulation. He’s also the co-founder and Managing Director of Hylobates Consulting Srl, a leading food regulations consultancy.

Vice Chair

Claudia is a specialist in sports food and supplement regulations and compliance and is the Associate Director of Regulatory & Quality Compliance for Europe at US-based brand, Nutrabolt.

Rodney Davidson
Vice Chair

Rodney is the Regulatory Affairs Manager at Glanbia Performance Nutrition, responsible for ensuring compliance across leading global brands including Optimum Nutrition, BSN and Isopure. With over 20 years’ experience in food and sports nutrition, he has held roles spanning quality management, regulatory compliance and contract manufacturing.

Vice Chair

Aimee is a food regulation specialist, and is the Senior Regulatory Manager UK/EU for The Hut Group (THG). Her experience includes roles in food and nutrition labelling and quality control.

Vice Chair

Satinder is Food Regulatory Manager at Bulk, with extensive experience in the food and drink industry across manufacturing, retail and consultancy. His experience includes roles in regulatory compliance of ingredients, labelling, claims, online content and EU/UK regulations.

ESSNA Secretariat

Since its founding, the ESSNA Secretariat, provided by Whitehouse Communications, delivers policy, regulatory and PR advice to members on all issues affecting the sports and active nutrition sector.
