audio&action in the farms | day 41 | afternoon
[ Yesterday's events and a few of personal encounters have left Lawrence a little worse for wear. Perhaps, physically, he's doing fine. Rest hasn't come easily to one who's heard the sounds of explosions so close. His ears might still be ringing, to be quite honest. He's finally wiped the grit and sweat from his face, but now his mind is weaker than it normally would be. He's smiling to himself as he covers his neck with the collar of his coat.
Was he hiding something? Who knows.
The audio is clear and cut to the point when the feed comes on. His voice has stabilized and calmed, but perhaps it's not such a good thing after all.
He could see Royce in the corner of his eye. He could almost feel him, claws wanting to grip his neck, wasn't it? Grab a hold of the host once more, right? That's all he wanted to do.
But no, Lawrence felt it would be better to go somewhere familiar by himself to feel better.
So he was at the farm. To his surprise and relief, seeing the animals still stirring honestly made him feel quite better. He hushed his voice down as he approached one of the horses in the barn. ]
Well, aren't you beautiful?
[ There's a pause and a rustle. ]
Ah- calm down, I would much rather starve than eat you. You're fine, to think you're still alive is a miracle on itself. Do you come back to life too? Are you stuck in this rewind like the rest of us?
I really can't believe...
[ Right, Lawrence turned on the feed for a reason, didn't he? ]
...Magic's not very common in a lot of worlds, is it? I know Anders is an advocate for it, certainly- but there's been quite a few folk here who've never even seen it. It's not very scary if you know how to handle it, and - well, perhaps it's not very scary to me because I can't necessarily harm myself with my magic.
[ He pauses to think... ]
That's right, what am I saying? Already forgetting the flicker of life and how it struggles in my own world. One day, it'll just consume us all, swallow us and eat us for dinner. Magic, I mean.
It doesn't bother me too much. Perhaps worrying about that is a little bit out of reach. Right now, there's plenty of things willing to snuff the life out of us all.
[ He laughs, or perhaps it's simply a light scoff ]
Vines today, isn't it? Quite the creepy little things.
Radar, I suppose we'll go to the mall later. Is that alright? I'll be in the farm if necessary.
... I'll probably be here for a while, to be quite honest.
I want to make sure there's enough food to go around, right? Sometimes, the best food is the kind you grow yourself, less chance of being poisoned or rotting if you tend it yourself.
...
So I hope.

action.
Running about frantically, the fear of being eaten is quietly screaming in the back of his head. Just like his lungs are as he runs around the island. He pants heavily as he wipes the sweat off his face. Don't do anything crazy, Lawrence. Just don't... Leaning over, he rests his hands on his knees -- trying to breathe before he catches sight of a familiar figure.
Calling out is beyond his abilities, his chest immediately tightens at the very thought. No more air left. So he is left with pushing himself forward once more. Until he is close enough to be able to say his name -- voice raspy and broken. ]
Law... rence... don't... do anything... you'll... regret...
action.
He frowns. Lawrence's hand clutches the brush against the mane tightly. He can't help but feel guilty over his own actions, of course. But even forcing his own death would be too dramatic for him, no.
He's just an awful friend, he knows. ]
Eike...!?
[ Seeing him collapse sends Lawrence to catch him, whether with magic or his own hand he reacts instantly. Who was the bigger fool here, he wondered? ]
W-what are you doing!?
no subject
[ Catching his breath is difficult and he stares at the animals. He wonders if they remember him. The eggs that he got so that he could make some for others, and put some in the fridge. Feeling a little dizzy, but at least, at least, Lawrence is okay. ]
You... you can't think of throwing... your life away... even if it is hard here...
no subject
Stupid...
[ He sighs, stretching his hand before snapping a finger and activating a small healing spell from it. He wraps his free arm around Eike, because he's just... ugh. Damn it, Wheatley was right!! ]
Edel used to run out of breath a lot... so this one's accommodated for the lungs. It's just to ease you slightly... so calm down and relax.

N-No, not at all! It's only a ... it's a saying, that's all. I'm hoping to be able to get some vegetables going, and the animals seem to need some attention lately...
...Uh. Do you need any help?
Would you like to? There's quite a few animals here, and by quite a few I mean a lot. Dad definitely doesn't have this many...

[He was sounding a little worse for wear, compared to a few days ago, but she couldn't really blame him, after everything that had happened.]
[Audio]
I could be better.
The hospital's usually where I work. Told you I was a healer, didn't I? It's been a long day and an even longer night these past few ones. Invasions and terrorism just springs up wherever...
[Audio]
[Celes had been there in the thick of things. The situation at the hospital wasn't pretty, that was for sure.]
I'm glad you're safe though. Not everyone was so lucky.

[ He looks about for a moment to analyze ]
Not much right now, the place is pretty run down, but it's got potential, you know? One of my friends love green houses, he won't stop talking about the sorts of things you can grow in one. This one's... a little broken into, but certainly nothing we can't handle.
There's horses too! And a few chickens, good for eggs...
I do not know if I'd be willing to slaughter any right now, unfortunately. They're quite underfed.
voice;
[no mocking lilt to that voice what-so-ever, and if anything, he moves on too smoothly.]
Then there must be some seeds laying about, too? I don't suppose you'd send them all to the chickens. Or the horses.
[a beat.]
-- Horses. [p-pfff. bit astounded, no denying it.] I'm assuming they can eat the vegetation here perfectly fine?

Hey, that's a real swell horse! Colonel Potter would love to see that. Not that I would want him to come here to see it, but it's the thought that counts...
If there are horses here do you think there are other animals?

I'M EVEN LATER
Erm, I'm just a standard average healer. Nothing else, nothing fancy. Well, I mean, other than my problem...
...but sure, you can come over.
no subject
[ And sure enough, within half an hour, he's arrived-- out of breath from running, but there regardless. His arm is bleeding from where a single vine got him, but otherwise he seems all right. ]
Lawrence! ...It smells bad here. Is that the animals? And what was that problem you mentioned? I didn't think it was something I could ask for over the network.
