[Bzzt bzzt. Sit back, fellow island residents, and enjoy the sound of Merlin fumbling with the cellphone for about a minute. Finally, he realises it's already on, and immediately begins chewing at his lip.]

Something's not right. [Merlin's clearly outside, his back to one of the walls surrounding the complex.] It's...the fog's gotten thicker, hasn't it? And that noise has been going on for a while now.

Some of you said that the...creatures come out after sunset. [The look he shoots skyward is both perplexed and worried. There's something bothering him about all this, but he can't put a finger on the source of his anxiety yet.] I can't see anything out here. D'you think...maybe we should keep a closer look out, at least until this fog lifts?

[It was the speed with which Morgana grabbed the device that it the cause of the accidental noise on the other end.

All Merlin will here is a slight rustling of material, and a slight exhalation of disgust.]

[There is a gasp, quiet but definite.

There is a slight noise of fumbling -- tapping at the device, trying to silence her end, but still, nothing is spoken.]

Ermmm. [He can definitely tell there's someone there, but Merlin figures they must be pretty new at using the phone, like he is.]

[There's a noncommittal, and thus unidentifiable noise of apology. Finally Morgana is able to mute herself, but still listen, which she will. Sorry, Merlin.]

...all right...? [He isn't sure what to make of this odd behavior, but he'll just leave it for now. It isn't like the connection is hurting anyone...(yet).]

I think you should go do some reconnaissance in the fog.You may find a place the fog is thinner.

OOC: Just establishing her creeping / creative ways of making sure Merlin gets dead.

[Sending a written message instead of speaking? Maybe the other person couldn't talk--actually, that would make a lot of sense. Merlin gives the suggestion some thought and nods slowly.]

That's...true. [Considering it more seriously now.]

We should probably form some kind of scouting group to take a look. I could bring it up with the others and see what they think.

There's something out the in fog. You can hear it if you stay in one spot but...

It's hiding. [he says this like it's the most obvious thing, because he's never really encountered a monster that could think for itself other than Zant and Ganondorf... But they were a different kind of monster]

Just because you can't see them, it doesn't mean they're not there. Hahahaha -- some enemies -- whether they're human or not -- are the most skilled when attacking from unseen positions, you know.

It'd be rather idiotic to go wandering around in another enemy's territory, don't you think?

There's something there, all right. It just hasn't done anything but make sounds near the sleeping area.

[He might know a few things about that, too, but it doesn't make him any less uncomfortable. He shakes his head.] I didn't mean we should go looking for it--that's just asking for trouble. What do you think it is, anyway?

They're probably making those sounds to curiosity from people like you. Eeheehee -- it's the oldest trick in the book: take cover and use whatever means possible to lure your prey to you.

[At his question, she shrugged.] Hell if I know what it is, heehee. I'm not stupid enough to go venturing out without the proper weaponry.

You sound like you've had some experience with that sort of thing.

And anyway, what is proper weaponry against the creatures around here?

[She smirks, tilting her head to the side.] Maybe a little, heeheehee!

I'm not even sure of what weapons will do the job, but I assume I need more than just my gun.

A....gun? Is that some sort of lance or sword?

[Considering what he and Arthur had gathered from the other residents, Merlin's glad Arthur has his sword with him. At least the prince would have some way of defending himself here.]
