002 | Video | Day 44
[The video comes on to show Faris lounging on the ledge of the balcony to her room, one leg hanging precariously over the edge (well, it would be precarious if she didn't live on the first floor). Lazily, she dangled a thin chain from her hand, letting the pendant attached to it swing at about eye-level. The pendant was simple, but made of gold and, frankly, looked like it better suited a noble than a dirty pirate.]
What are parents like? [She cleared her throat.] Your parents, I mean. I never knew mine. I thought I was finally gettin' close to maybe figuring out who they were when I got yanked here, go figure.
[Maybe she's just not meant to find out. After a second she shook her head, looking more serious this time.]
Anyway, does anyone have any experience buildin' boats? Far as I can tell, food's runnin' out here and sittin' around on our thumbs doesn't seem to be getting us out of here any sooner.
(OOC: Feel free to [action] at her if you happen to be walking around by her balcony or in her room for whatever reason or whatever!)

[It was something she wondered for some time, but from time to time she wondered if it was worth all of the hassle. She was herself regardless of her heritage, after all.]

That's nice.
[The pendant, that is. The one swinging in and out of view in the video. Appraising treasure is something he is good at.]
Looks expensive.

[It takes her a second to figure out what he's talking about, and when she does she tucks it protectively into her clothes.]
Don't even think about takin' it.

Though her eyes don't quite meet the camera of the video feed, she still at least faces the right direction, worriedly fidgeting a few knuckles around her mouth.]
Why weren't you able to see your parents, eheh?
I think I mighta seen them when I was little. But I don't remember anything from back then.
[Vague faces and voices. Nothing she could put a name to.]

[Granted they were short lived experiences watching a ghost mom with her ghost child, and listening to the voice of a dead father talking to his baby, but that's close enough.]
I'm not sure how to build at boat.
[She was guessing not, by the way he said "a mom", but it was worth asking. (Even if the question itself was a little insensitive)]
I've done plenty of boat repairing, so I might be able to figure it out. And we've got plenty of trees in the forest, right?

She's not Edgar
Really? I thought...
It's be kinda weird if she was though.
The game would be a lot more dramatic.
Hahah
