[For a moment it's just black. She's breathing hard and mutters a curse. Moving the phone up, a blue scaly girl with red hair and yellow eyes can be seen. She's dirty, but not injured. Raven's emotional and trying to calm herself.]

This isn't funny, Charles. If this is some mind trick to train me or something.... you promised. [Her brow knit. Her anger is only a mask for her fear. Her eyes show how very terrified she is.] I've seen some shit in my day, but this isn't funny.

So just wake me up or whatever. We have a big day tomorrow. I get the point. I just want to go home. [And blaming Charles is just the easiest way to explain this. Because if it was real and she was alone... Raven swallows hard. She looks back out to where she just came from, escaping those things...] Please, Charles...

[She switches the feed off.]

ooc: Raven was knocked unconscious in Erik's thread. Any more responses past Hank's, she won't get until she wakes up.

[It's a strange question, but he already has a feeling he knows the answer. Because she wouldn't be asking for Charles, otherwise.]

[He's on the move, but his tone makes it clear he isn't playing.]

It's actually night. I was just coming back from talking to Charles after... visiting you. [Yeah, that's what she'll call it. It sounds much better than 'attempting to use you as a rebound'.

Raven looks around.] I'm on a beach, Erik. I don't know how else to describe it.

That isn't when Charles and I come from, now.

[It doesn't make a great of sense to him either, and he knows she is going to have a million questions.

But regardless when she is from, she came with him--and he means to keep her safe.]

I'm coming for you.

[She just nods before a rock hits too close for comfort and she screams. Her phone immediately goes black.]

[Bruce can't help but stare for a few long moments. He has to stop himself from asking questions, but now isn't the time, and it's undoubtedly personal and rude and all those things. He knows he wouldn't want to answer questions about himself.

So he shakes it off and says quietly,] I don't know who Charles is, but it wasn't him. We're all stuck here.

You're on the beach, right? [Focusing on the practical will help keep her calm, he hopes.]

Attempting to leave it. [Because getting rocks thrown at is not fun. She curses again and the screen goes black for a moment.]

Are you alright? [he asks, growing alarmed. He wishes he knew if there was a pattern to where new people showed up, some way to escort them to safety if they needed it without randomly guessing which part of the island they were at.]

[It takes her a moment. She's ducking under on the point where the beach moves into land.] Does it look like I'm alright? Why are there rocks being hurled at me?

No, but I don't think there's anything I can do to help, [he admits, making himself calm down.] I can't tell where you are.

Native monsters. Something's made them restless today - I only arrived yesterday, but it looks like this is normal.

Normal? [She hates that word. She hates this place. Give her a moment where she peers around.] Well how far until the nearest place where native monsters aren't trying to kill me?

Inland, shouldn't be more than a couple miles. You should see walls about two stories high - that's where the rest of us are.

Sounds like a real resort. [Another sound of the earth shaking.] Shit. I think I have someone coming for me.

[He sounds surprised at first but follows that with a rather grim statement.]

Hank? Hank! [And then there's the sound of rock hitting the beach and nothing is discernible for twenty seconds. Then her face pops up. She's mad at you, Hank, but it's a relief to see him.]

Hank, are you okay?

Nevermind me. Raven, you have to get inside. Now.

Easier said than done. Erik's coming for me.

Good. [He hesitates.] ...Will you keep talking to me until he gets there? I want to make sure you're okay.

[She's mad at you, Hank. Their last conversation is ringing in her ears. But she nods.] Erik said he and Charles aren't from the same time as I am. It's the night before we're to leave for Cuba for me.

[The ground rumbles dangerously close to her. She needs a moment to relocate.]

You and I are from the same time. [His tone is curiously grim.] But I'd rather not talk about that right now.

[He's unwilling to elaborate on why for now, so he clumsily changes the subject.]

What else did Erik tell you about this place?

[Why does no one want to explain the why?]
