[Despite having only recently docked and meeting with people who seemed to have plenty of interesting and important things to say, Link was running late as well as behind...That kind of happens when you fall asleep and miss out on various explanations.
So, with an awkward smile and sheepish tone, the Hylian made an uncomfortable broadcast.]
Um so, how about this weather huh? Looks like it could rain any day... So!
[Wow, he was terrible at this.]
I don't s'pose anyone has anything food-wise they are willing to trade? I have some things I could swap and stuff so... Yeah... I guess that's all? Just don't really fancy an adventure on an empty stomach is all...
[That was it, short but sweet, much like himself. He'd spent the better part of a month trapped in one of the abandoned bunks on a lower deck, so Link was a little on the weak side, not that he'd show or admit it.]

voice
[For his part, Locke's very unfond of them on principle and is thus busy walking in the opposite direction at the moment, or he'd offer to be a bit more helpful.]
I'd be careful about sticking around too long, though.
voice
Its the wading through the soldiers part that I was kind of hoping to be strong enough for. I mean, I've got this stamina potion but I don't like my chances of getting there and back before it runs dry...
[No, Link is also unfonf of the whole having to go to the military for supplies too. If he can avoid making any contact with them, e'd be more than happy.]
voice
[And really, to hell with that. There's a pause before he continues, because all that sounds a lot more serious than it ought to. For once they hadn't been short of food on the ship for a while, so what could have happened?]
You okay, kid?
voice
[Its slightly more serious that it ought to be, that's about right. But, Link isn't one to ask for help unless he really needs it so... Yeah, he's in a bad way right about now.]
I'll be fine, just had a nasty bump is all... Taking my time to get back up from it. Don't s'pose those soldiers would notice a few broken pots and missing snacks huh?
[Because he had to find a way to lighten the current route of is train of thought.]
voice
They'll notice less if you're not busting up the crockery.
[The soldiers may be giving the passengers the relative run of the place, but odds are they still wouldn't react kindly to breaking and entering. Emphasis on the breaking. After a moment:]
Can you give me an hour? You don't sound much like you're in any shape to be sneaking around.
[And it shouldn't take Locke more than an hour to get back to the mill and out of it again.]
voice (Sorry this is so late D:)
You have experience in this kind of thing? I mean, I'm not calling you a criminal or anything, just curious is all.
[Locke sounds to be making perfect sense, Link's just wondering if he should be trusting a complete stranger. He can be a bit oblivious at times.]
An hour? Um, sure! I'm not doing anything so, yes I can wait for you.
[Lets hope he's putting his blind trust in the right person this time.]
voice (don't sweat it, I am patient!)
[He'll find the term "thief" insulting, but it doesn't make it any less...accurate. He certainly sounds confident about it. Gotten himself in and out of occupied cities before, and guard seems to be low while they get used to the new arrivals so hopefully-]
They won't even know I was there.
voice (legend! Thank you :3)
[Link had met many different sorts of people in his short 17 years, he was bad at judging them and even worse when it came to letting people use him, but something was telling him this guy was worth his word.]
Heh, maybe you can give me some tips when I'm feeling more up to it?
voice
First one is to try not to break anything if you don't have to.
[...Unless that's what you're there for, in which case go ahead, but be careful about it. He's already turned himself around to head back toward the mill. Bit of a detour, but it sounds like the kid needed the help and those rebels in the woods don't sound like they're going anywhere without him just yet.]
Where are you? Stay put and I'll get in touch again once I'm nearby.
voice
Oh, I'm actually not too far from the dock. I um.. didn't really get too far in land, I'll light a fire so you know where I'm at?
voice
Not unless you want trouble. If they're trying to hunt down those men in the woods, those soldiers'll be watching for smoke.
[And they probably won't care to ask questions first when they come looking for the source.]
Stick near the docks and I'll call if I can't find you.
[They'll make a sneaky bastard out of you, yet. A pause. Very belatedly-]
It's Locke, by the way.
voice
[Wow, he needs to get his act together, that bump to the head must have knocked out some of the small percentage of common sense he used to have.]
I'll make sure to be on one of the ports then, there aren't too many people hanging around here at the moment so I should be easy to find.
Oh! its Link, my name that is. Nice to meet you Mister Locke.
voice-> action?
Alright, then. Hold tight, Link. I won't be long, I promise.
[And he's nothing if not a man of his word. It takes him a little longer than expected, but slightly more than an hour later, he's scanning the port for people, carrying a small canvas bag over a shoulder. Not as much as he'd have liked to liberate from the kitchens, but as much as he could get away with without pressing his luck. There's someone sitting not far from the shadow of the Charon still looming at the dock. Close enough to what he remembers of the initial video - blonde, green hat, yep. Oughta be him. He whistles once to announce his presence, loud and sharp, in case Link hasn't caught wind on him yet.]
action!
Holding tight was something he could at least do. It hadn't felt like all that long, before he got the inkling that someone was watching him from afar. Glancing around, Link's expert eyes narrowed in on someone moving up ahead. They didn't seem to be a soldier or look as rough as some of the rebels he'd heard of. Hold on, wasn't that the guy, Locke, from earlier?
He smiled, standing up and waving over at him, about to call out before he realized drawing attention to them might not be the best idea.]
actionnnn
Link, right? Didn't keep you waiting too long, did I?
no subject
With the flick of a wrist, the grappling hook claw Link had on his hip was shot out. The claw springing open and catching the bread before winding in and drawing it to Link's side for him to investigate.]
Yeah, Locke was it? And no! You came faster than I was expecting, thanks.
no subject
...yeah, that's me. Ran into some trouble on my way out, but I wasn't too far away.
[He hops up onto the dock and fishes through the bag for a moment, retrieving another piece of bread and using it to gesture at the clawshot. Looked like the sort of thing Edgar would build in his spare time.]
What is that thing? If you don't mind me asking.
no subject
Trouble? Oh! I'm sorry, that's completely my fault, seeing as you were doing this for me and all...
[Feeling somewhat sheepish, what.]
Hm? Oh, its my clawshot, you can grapple with it, real handy... Er no pun intended.
no subject
Nah, it's not your fault. Easier to get in than to get out with the goods, they're getting pretty stingy over there.
[The soldiers were giving the newcomers the run of the joint, but they were monitoring the supplies pretty closely. No surprise, since Vidal seemed to want to starve the rebels out of the woods.]
How're you feeling?
D :so sorry its late!!! For some reason this was in my junk folder! Just ignore it if its too late.
Yeah? You think we'll all be here long, like I mean, you think its gonna get worse? They don't seem to keen on us being here, even though they aren't exactly chasing us off.
[A few more bites and a sip of water and Link nods with a smile.]
I've been better, but I've also felt much worse so there's always that.
wow rude junk folder
[COMPASS, that is. Every time they dock, it lasts a week precisely. But the war-]
But I'll tell you what, I don't like the look of that Captain guy. It doesn't sound like those men in the woods can last much longer, the way things are. And a situation like this one is only gonna get worse before it gets better.
I know right?! D:
Is there anything we can do to help the men in the woods? They don't really seem all that bad and I for one would feel terrible if there was something we could do for them before we leave.
no subject
Might be, if they'll have us. I was taking a look around before we spoke, before.
[Probably seems arrogant to assume he could succeed in tracking down the Rebels where Vidal and his men continuously failed. But he had experience in the matter of Rebel hideouts.]
