[ While Ivan prefers the background, he didn't plan to be that far into the background. The last thing he hazily remembers is falling asleep in the classroom next to Barnaby. In other words, he hadn't been in any dangerous situation that he knew of. ]

Um, does anyone know what happened to me? Did I just die again? Somehow? The campus has changed, and it's cold, and I'm not where I remember being, but I don't have anything wrong with me, and I keep checking everything I could think of. I'm me. I'm not seeing everyone dying. I'm not a ghost. My power's fine. I'm not bloodthirsty. I don't feel like I have to kill people. I can see other people around me.

If I died, something should be wrong with me, right? I didn't wake in the graveyard, but I don't know what else could have happened… This hasn't happened to me before.

[ Unless his death penalty is extreme paranoia, which Ivan is doing a good job at exhibiting. However, this time Ivan didn't die. For once. He was simply Voided. ]

And please, please tell me someone's seen Barnaby. He sent me a bunch of texts that I couldn't see until now, and now I can't get a hold of him!

[ He's already run to the graveyard to check if there's a new gravestone there, but there isn't. Truthfully, he's more worried about Barnaby's safety more than if he died or not. ]

I couldn't get in touch with him all of last week. I don't think a lot of my messages were going through to a lot of people including you both, though.

[ Troubling as it is... He sent out some to everyone he could think of but he must have messed up somehow in all the panic. Embarrassing. ]

Not at the moment....

I was falling asleep in the classroom. That much I know, but after that... I don't know what happened.

That's strange... I can't imagine why that would happen, but if he's not here either...

[ Now he's worried. ]

How long ago were his texts sent? I don't want to say that he's been sent home, but...

[ He goes to check the timestamps on the messages. They don't make sense at first, but he remembers his exchange with Sheena. ]

... I've been missing... haven't I?

And he still has a contact! So he's here... s-somewhere...

[ People don't just go home here. They die! ]

[ He's confused by these strange circumstances himself. What could have happened to him? He had assumed he'd gotten distracted with the latest temporary change in location, which would have explained why he hadn't heard from him after giving him his little assignment. However, it's a bit of a moot point now that the Cultists have once again vanished. ]

...I haven't seen him since long before this matter, but I'm also quite interested to hear your theories for what transpired. Perhaps your punishment for death is remembering what caused it?

[ It's too unusual that he'd have that wiped out of his memory. ]

Do you at least know what day it was that where your memory simply stopped?

Um, not exactly, but I do remember it being very hot and humid and the jungle.

And if that's my punishment... it... sounds too nice.

[ Mitsunari knows of what he saw weeks ago. If this is really all, then Ivan could handle and adapt to the idea of not knowing how he died. As long as he can keep those close to him safe. However, he can't shake the feeling that he's missing something. (Besides knowing where Barnaby is)

This is really too gentle for something COMPASS would force on him. ]

And what day was that on? If we know how long the gap is in between then and now, we could have some better insight to what exactly happened.

[ He might have suffered from heat stroke if he was out in the jungle too long. He certainly sounds as though something was fried, but Mitsunari also thought that of him long before this incident. ]

[ Now Ivan wishes he had been paying more attention to the fact that there was a calendar on the watch. He had been keeping track based on the newspapers, and his sense of what "day" it was went hazy once they stopped. It would be a lot easier to say something like Aug. 19th, but it's something he'll have to work on and converse with others about. ]

It was towards the end of the week when the cultists were attacking and killing a lot of people... the seventh day if you count the new arrivals coming as the first day of the week.

That was quite a while. You missed that entire ordeal afterward? I find it hard to believe anyone could sleep through that so you must have gone into some stasis.

[ Though this would be the first time he's hearing of any. It's also another threat to deal with in this place on top of the many he's encountered already. ]

It could also be possible Barnaby is in a stasis himself if he hasn't returned and if he's not buried. Now, it's simply a matter of locating where his body is. I assume you've checked his room and his favorite spots already.

[ Assuming there are any spots to be favored in a place like this... ]

... I guess... that's possible. I really can't find anything wrong with me, so maybe... maybe I didn't die this time.

[ The growing pain in his head is a normal headache. Nothing to be worried about. Or maybe he's going to start growing horns!! ... No, it's just a headache. ]

I've checked, but Zelien's a big place. I have to have missed him...

I will keep an eye out for him. We'll cover more ground if there is more than one person searching. It's not out of any personal concern. I only want to know what kind of potential threat lies out there that could have attacked him. I'd rather not find out the hard way.

[ If there is a mass kidnapping on or if people are falling into strange comas, he wants to be among the first to know. It would at least aid in preparing himself against them. ]

[ To be entirely truthful, Minako's first instinct is to reply because of the content of the message. No one should be left wondering if they've died or not. Especially when they sound worried.

But it's easier to not put the focus on that. Keep it light. Try to cheer other people up-- isn't that what she's good at? And especially since the voice is male, it's pretty easy to just fall back in her usual pattern, giggling happily. ]

Well, I don't know what could be wrong with someone who sounds this cute! [ A wink follows. ]

[ Minako wins the award for most creative response to his post. But her response does give Ivan an idea. ]

Um... oh, maybe I look strange to other people... Please hold on... Um, is there something wrong with me from your perspective?

[ He activates the video option and points it at himself. Ivan will look perfectly okay, except for the fact that the black shirt he's wearing is too big for him. ]

[ .. Oh no. Her judgement was spot on just there.. what an absolute cutie! At least she'll hold herself back from squealing, but she's definitely putting her hands on her cheeks the moment she sees Ivan.

(Maybe not the reassurement he was looking for, huh.) ]

That depends on what you mean by "wrong".. but from what I can see, having those kind of looks can only be right, super right!

[ Ivan does still have some of his bruises left from when he rescued Kaede, but they are probably faded some. At the very least, Ivan knows that he hasn't grown a second head or grown spots only visible to others.

Unless this girl likes that kind of thing. ]

[ Okay, so he's running out of ideas of what COMPASS could have possibly done to him. ]

[ For a moment she sounds incredibly dramatic. Dramatic enough that Ivan should start worrying about whether he didn't grow that second head after all, but after a moment she at least continues. ]

[ Ivan pales at change in tone. He knew it. Something's wrong with him. He must have died. He-- ]

I-I what?!

[ He's not a "total cute hunk." That kind of phrase is for a guy with a body like Barnaby's. ... Did he really just think that? Ivan thought he was himself, but what if he's still wrong about that? It's not the first time his vision has been tampered with here. ]

Um, are you sure? Because I'm not one...

Huh? [ She doesn't really frown - really, she still has the same cheer about her somehow - but she does huff at that question. ] Are you questioning the goddess of love and beauty's judgement? I know a truly cute guy when I see one, you know, I have years of experience!
