      Disposition:
LOYAL. Katniss is brave, especially when it comes to the people she cares about. When it comes down to it, Katniss will fight like hell to protect "her" people. She has a very small group of people she'd consider loved ones. She doesn't often get close to people, but when she does, she'll do whatever she can for them--she loves deeply and fiercely. Especially where her sister is concerned, Katniss would do damn near anything. She volunteered to take her place in the Games without hesitation, even knowing there was an extremely good chance that she'd die. She's also willing, in the Games, to go to what could easily be a trap in order to get medicine for Peeta. Katniss all but bullies Haymitch Abernathy into making sure Peeta survives the Quarter Quell, where she and Peeta would go back into the arena for a second time. Finally, Katniss risks her life to destroy the arena, in order to get Peeta and the other tributes out.

RESOURCEFUL. Katniss is nothing if not stunningly resilient and resourceful. She's had to provide for her entire family for years. She puts her name in for additional Reaping entries in order to receive more resources for her family. Her going into the woods is a daily occurrence; she's capable of making traps and snares to capture game to trade. In her first Games, Katniss comes up with a plan to take care of the "Career" tributes, simply when she's alerted to a nest of hornets. Katniss knows how to identify plants simply by looking at them--it's a skill she honed, so that she and her family would not starve or get sick. Prior to her second games, Katniss makes a statement to the Gamemakers simply by using rope, berry juice, and a dummy--she strings the dummy up and paints it to look like it's bleeding. If Katniss can use her surroundings, she absolutely will, and she'll make excellent use of them.

EMOTIONAL. When Katniss gets angry, she gets angry. Katniss has a lot of buttons to press and a short fuse, and once her anger's been ignited, it's hard to reel it in. Katniss doesn't like being played; she lashes out and even physically attacks people. She doesn't know how to regulate her anger, and when it's ignited, it burns extremely hot and extremely brightly. Katniss is stunningly impulsive; she often acts before thinking, even if it means she might get hurt for it. She's not afraid to let her anger show--or, more accurately, she doesn't care if people like her or not, so showing a bit of anger isn't a big deal. On the more positive side, when Katniss is soft, she's much easier to get along with. When she's not trying to make people like her, she is likeable. When she's invested with someone and they get hurt or killed, she's overwhelmed with grief. Katniss's emotional moments are what lift her up as the symbol of the rebellion. She's loving with her sister and even with Peeta, because she cares about them.

GUARDED. Katniss is... prickly. She's difficult to get along with when she's not invested in someone. Of course, when she doesn't try, Katniss is pretty likeable. But she gets in her head entirely too much; she second-guesses herself, and she's suspicious of pretty much everyone she doesn't know. Katniss has a tendency to sort of blurt things out, too, which can cause problems when she says something particularly egregious. She's learned to shield her emotions for the most part; especially during the Games, she's smart enough to realize when people are trying to get a specific reaction out of her, and she actively tries to not give them that reaction. At the same time, she's kind of a terrible actress. Katniss is most likeable when she lets her guard down, but that's her issue--she doesn't let her guard down. She's blunt and she speaks her mind, even if it makes her unpleasant. She's suspicious of everyone, because being suspicious has kept her alive. This also makes her... kind of a terrible actress, honestly, which presents a problem when President Snow wants her to act a certain way in order to keep her family safe. She's naturally suspicious and hateful of the Capitol, so it's hard for her to act in a way that will make them seem like the good guys.

Suitability: Oh, boy. Katniss is going to have a difficult time adjusting. She's just come out of a second Hunger Games, so she's going to have a difficult time in general. Katniss, initially, is going to be extremely suspicious of everyone and everything. Essentially, they're going to have to prove to her that they mean her no harm, and even then, Katniss is going to have a time! Add Synchrony into the mix, and she's going to probably have a super hard time adjusting. However, the fact that she's given free housing and affordable food is going to help. As long as Katniss can keep herself busy, she'll be able to adjust... probably. While it'll be a struggle for her, it'll be interesting to explore how someone guarded and suspicious like Katniss will adjust.

Condition upon arrival: Physically well, but traumatized.

Abilities: Katniss is a normal human being, so she doesn't have any abilities. She is a very good shot with a bow and arrows, though, and she's extremely resilient.

Inventory: Her mockingjay pin; a gold locket with photos of her mother, Primrose, and Gale inside; a silver parachute that holds a spile for tapping trees; and a pearl given to her by Peeta.

      Gembond: Amethyst.
      Gem Location: Over her heart.
