You can use AI in your builds, its encouraged! Plus, you can create apps that are decentralized AND use AI.

Event Dates

  • Registration October 17th → November 15th
  • Kick-off event November 4th 10:30 AM ET
  • Build November 4th → November 25th
  • Project submission November 25th 11:45 PM PT

Eligibility

  • Age: Participants must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction.
  • Countries Excluded: Due to legal restrictions, participants from Brazil, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Quebec, Russia, and Syria are ineligible.
  • Legal Compliance: Participants must comply with applicable laws in their jurisdiction.

Project & Submission Requirements

  • Mandatory Tech: Projects must use Arweave, AO Computer, and/or ArFleet to qualify for winnings. We understand that ArFleet is very very early days, do what you can with it!
  • Originality: Projects must be original. You may use third-party materials as long as you follow their licensing terms.
  • Host Discretion: Event hosts have sole discretion in determining the winners of all rewards and bounties. All decisions are final.

Prizes — Up to 50K in funding! 

$25,000 in startup funding (equity free)

Up to 5 teams will receive $5,000 USD for their projects completed between Nov. 4 and Nov. 25, 2024. Winners will be announced on Nov. 27, 2024 at the live Demo Day event.

Teams must be 2 to 4 members total.

Projects must use Arweave, AO Computer, and/or ArFleet to qualify for winnings. All is highly recommended. At least 50% of teams must be made up of people who have not won a hackathon or bounty in this ecosystem in 2024.

If you refer someone who wins during this hackathon, you may earn $1,000 USD. THIS IS EXTERNAL TO DEVPOST. PLEASE READ SPECIFICS. More details here.

$25,000 in follow-on funding (w/ equity). THIS IS SEPARATE PART AND NOT THROUGH DEVPOST.

If you happen to be on a winning team ✨, we're offering a potential additional $5,000 USD to select teams in the form of an investment.

This will be reserved to those that document their objectives and meet and exceed those goals during the several weeks after the hackathon.

Follow on investments or additional funding will be determined in January 2025. This may come in the form of a services agreement, grant, token and/or equity purchase.

Judging Criteria & Winner Selection

  • Implementation: How complete and functional is the project?
  • Technical Difficulty: Complexity of the problem and solution.
  • Applicability: Does it align with Arweave’s ecosystem and create value over time? Is it an Arweave Fullstack App or Build?
  • Creativity: Does it offer an innovative or unique solution to a problem?

Teams

New team builds
  • Teams must be 2 to 4 members total.
  • Projects must use Arweave, AO Computer, and/or ArFleet to qualify for winnings. All is highly recommended. At least 50% of teams must be made up of people who have not won a hackathon or bounty in this ecosystem in 2024.
  • For new team builds there are up to (3) total bounties of $5k USD each.
  • If you refer someone who wins on a new build team during this hackathon, you may earn $1,000 USD. More details here.
Continuous team builds:
  • No specific requirement for team size. For continuation teams there are up to (2) total bounties of $5k USD each.
  • To be eligible, must have submitted real/solid project to Permahacks and signup on or before Nov. 8th here.
  • No referral awards for continuous builds teams.
