night eleven; hunters

Once again, as everyone remains locked inside with a raging blizzard outside, you awake at 11 PM precisely to find the door from your cabin open.
Outside, despite the sounds of a blizzard and the whiteout blocking the views from your window, the world is still and calm. The ground and trees are blanketed in thick snow, but no snow is falling and the wind is no longer blowing.
You're all familiar now with what awaits you in the clearing behind the woods, near the caves at the base of the mountain. Still, even if you thought to resist, you are unable to disobey the call that brings you to where your fellow hunters gather.
Several of the trees nearby have long pieces of parchment nailed to them. In case you'd somehow forgotten, the rules you are bound by are nailed there:
You are a hunter. Your role is to devour prey.
→ In this game, there are hunters, prey, and scavengers. Everyone here is a hunter, and everyone else is either prey or scavenger.
→ Every night, the hunters will meet and pick someone to kill. Then, a few lucky hunters will get to kill the prey themselves!
→ The next day, everyone will get together. The prey will try to find out who the hunters are!
→ At the end of the day, there will be a trial, and one player will be chosen. Whoever is chosen will be executed!
→ The hunters will win if they outnumber the other players or kill all of the prey!
→ Be careful and be smart! Don't let the prey know who you are, and try to make other prey look suspicious! Remember that some prey is dangerous to you. They might have special abilities that will help them find out who you are!
→ Always keep in mind the scavengers, too. Some of them may just be hunting YOU!
As a hunter, you have particular incentives.
→ In this game, the only ones guaranteed to live are those still standing at the end.
→ If the prey win, all of the hunters will be killed.
→ If the hunters win, the survivors can make a request. If you request all the dead to return to life, all players will leave this place unharmed.
→ The only way to guarantee everyone leaves here alive is for the hunters to kill the prey and win the game!
As hunters, you are sworn to secrecy.
→ You may not tell prey or scavengers about your incentives. You may not hint to anyone about your incentives. You may not try to help them figure it out.
→ If you are found out as a hunter, you may tell prey you were bribed or threatened. You cannot tell them about the special rules or that anyone can come back to life.
→ You may not help prey or scavengers. You may not assist them in any way. You may not attempt to throw the game. You may not reveal your fellow hunters.
→ If a hunter helps the prey or reveals the hunters' incentives, that prey will be killed. There will also be consequences for the hunters.
→ If the betrayal was intentional and serious, at the end of the game, none of the dead will be revived.
→ Otherwise, if there was a betrayal, at the end of the game the dead prey will be revived, but the dead hunters will remain dead.
As a hunter, you had a choice to play.
→ All of you agreed to be here.
→ All of you are bound by these rules.
→ All of you betray your own lives and the lives of the other players if you break them.

Hee hee, only two of you left! Do you still think you can win? Well, I guess we'll find out! Tonight's death will be a surprise, okay?

England theorized that Clara was the watcher. He'd found out that someone had investigated Ciel - obviously - the Doctor, and Lithuania. He figured no one would have reason to watch the Doctor except Clara.
If they don't have guns, though, they can't take either of us out outside of a trial.
There's a good chance people will suspect me before they do you. If I'm not nominated in trial tomorrow, I'd be surprised.
For what it's worth, I'm glad you're a hunter. I know the odds are against us, but I don't think they'll catch on about you for a while.

I claimed was a Scavenger; he believed me and told me to block you. Will have to see how it goes. If asked, will say I blocked you but don't know if did anything... but won't be any poison victims, yes?
They'll probably catch you. I'm sorry.
Nuts
It's all right. I lasted longer than all the others anyway.
So let's assume I'll die tomorrow.
Here's what you need to know. There's another game Critter is playing. We have to stretch the game out as long as possible. It'll be easier with no new guns in play.
I'll try to throw suspicion off of you as much as I can. Beat didn't get his first vote tonight, and Holden and Ada tried to incriminate Gundam earlier. I can draw attention to them, especially in trial.
England suggested going after the people who were most likely to vote before the ones who don't. Those people are Gundam, Rikku, and Fukawa. The ones who tend to abstain are Clara Oswald, the Doctor, Madoka Kaname, Mondo Oowada, Peggy Carter, Sayaka Maizono, Steve Rogers.
I'll bury my journal for you like England did. If you ask Critter, he might retrieve it for you.
And I think it best if I kill Sayaka on my own tonight. The less people have to go on concerning you, the better.
Bolts
If asked about poison; say you were blocked. Have two notes from Charles:
[she hands over two pieces of paper from the sleeves of her glove. The first reads:]
"Keep watch on Sharon Carter tonight if necessary.
I must apologize - I suspected you to be a hunter at first, but there was confirmation on Spain's person that you have been cleared. Therefore, it is either Carter or Caulfield who hold the poison role.
I also have reason to suspect one other potential hunter, but I will leave that in a written note under my pillow. Please retrieve it after my death."
[and the second:]
"I will most likely die tonight, one way or another.
However, I have given your alignment and role description to a handful of other cleared prey so that they know you can help by blocking roles at night, just in case any remaining wolves hold one. I am sorry for revealing your cover but you can trust these people, I guarantee. I have trusted them all with my true choice as to whether or not I'll be saving myself tonight; they will be of use to you as well.
They have been instructed to approach you during trial tomorrow and hand you a small folded slip of paper to make their identities known. Meet with them after the trial and start working with them to crack the mystery and catch the last hunters."
HAMMER!
Mayu.
This is excellent.
[ And the thought of Holden being the poisoner... She laughs, even though it doesn't last long. She had liked Holden, and it had pained her that she hadn't been able to offer him much comfort during the day. ]
And you won't know what prey have been cleared until I'm dead...
[ She's thoughtful for several seconds. ]
Then I'll have to try and use Peggy and Steve.
I'll try to sow some seeds tomorrow. Did you pick up on anything we can use? I figure I can draw attention to Beat or Gundam.

Can only go off who he met post-Trial... seems they meet then, yes?
Wonder who the potential Hunter is...

It might be better if I don't draw attention to anyone, then.
I'm sorry I'm leaving you alone with all this.

→ Each night, you will be able to choose any player.
→ For that night, that player will not be able to make use of their role.
→ Instead, they will receive a message letting them know another player blocked their role.
→ This can only be used once.

questions for critter
But if your character asks a specific question about the game, it just might answer.]

Okay. One potentially last question. We know why we're playing - at least, why we think we're playing - but why are you playing? Why does the game exist at all?
