the graveyard so far
DAY THREE: Mayu is the first ghost to make her presence known in the graveyard after her murder by the rabid, a girl who she never saw and whose voice she did not recognize. She comes to the conclusion no ghost is really dead, based on their tangibility.
DAY FOUR: The next night Mayu is joined by Poland, who had a pleasant conversation with her while they were alive and bonds over their shared method of murder. In addition the hunter's prey kill arrives in earnest for the first time - James Sunderland. Depressed and obsessed with his missing wife even while alive, in death he continues to ponder why they are here. He is the first ghost to take part in the "real game", placing the photo of his wife in the jail.
DAY FIVE: The rabid kill this night was Edward Nigma; the prey kill, Kanaya Maryam, causes a larger ripple. She and Mayu and Poland connect during the day as she helps them to identify Sayaka over the DVR. It is today that the custom of "popcorning" begins in earnest, as the trial targets not idlers but Bruce Wayne, the stalker who sought out the scavenger, and Joshua, who orchestrated idle Babydoll's execution. Mayu and Kanaya cheer on the prey, especially Ciel and Kyouko Kirigiri, ringleaders with whom Kanaya bonded while undead; Poland on the other hand cheers on the pack.
LATER the executed Bruce arrives, with an icy welcome from his victim, and tells Poland he discovered Sayaka's identity. AFTER THAT Critter grants a "special treat": They watch Sayaka's kill that night, and to Bruce's distress the victim is his son Damian Wayne, who was even prey. Her accomplice is also present, which her victims only vaguely recall for themselves. The hunters are confused as they think Sayaka should have been killed by the hunters before she could have attacked Damian. On the subject of the "real game", Mayu decides to put her bunny in the supply shop, while Kanaya settles on memories of her best friend, game-absent Rose Lalonde, for the church next.
DAY SIX: A real shocker of a day. Robin is dead by gunshot and cannot give further details; she is received warmly, though, and has interesting contributions to the real game's tactics especially for Poland.
Sayaka Miki does join the ghosts after all and her accomplice, Arya Stark. Though Kanaya congratulates her, Sayaka doesn't feel justified: Critter has to divest her at arrival of a delusion it induced, that everyone aside from herself and her accomplice were "familiars" and would have to be killed. However, she tried to target wolves first to protect prey best friend Madoka, and seems to have trusted Kanaya's advice on the matter. She tries to reconcile with her victims; Mayu and Poland are accepting of her. Damian on the other hand is not: he enters the graveyard quite surly, upset his father proved to be a hunter to the point that he fights with Kanaya when she says he killed her and rips off her left horn. Bruce interjects with the truth and Damian rejects him.
At the trial, Sanae Hanekoma is present - to the shock of all the ghosts, as he was one of their number not so long ago. Mayu becomes all the more confident this means nobody is truly dead. Holden Caulfield announces Akane Kurashiki's poisoning, to Sayaka's disdain, and Poland corroborates a negative view of him. With the confusion caused by the werewolf announcement, Ema ends up joining them. Lamenting the incompetence of the prey in lynching their deerhound and the absence of the bloodhound, for the first time some nonhunters begin to seriously consider whether their side should just lose.
That night after much harrassment from Kanaya, who was interested in the church, Poland finally figures out what to give up: His right hand, hoping Lithuania will see it.
DAY SEVEN: The bloodhound is killed that night - Rapunzel. Many are furious at her for apparent inaction but she insists she was not utterly useless. Akane also finally makes it into the afterlife after her poisoning the day before. The first thing that attracts attention during the trial is that Syo has been poisoned and holds Holden hostage with a knife, through commentary on which Akane discovers his alignment. Later Tony Stark turns himself in after Rapunzel's pet chameleon implicates him. The real bombshell comes when Critter announcesthe nations have been cheating prey have beeen aiding the pack and this is folly as all prey die with pack victory. Any pro-pack sentiment among the ghosts evaporates.
At night Bruce points out that an actual clue rather than a location is necessary. He doubts the prudence of giving up body parts, but Sayaka nevertheless goes forward with the loss of her left arm for the video clue, partly motivated by the desire to be a recognizable silhouette so she can never act as the rabid did again, and partly assuming the video has to be the best.
DAY EIGHT: Luke, Tony, and Ukyo arrive. The first reunites with his mother, the next cannot summon the energy to defend himself for very long, and the last reveals to everyone's shock that her shooting by Kyouko was orchestrated to conceal her conversion. Trial watching starts calm but grows heated when England confesses and many ghosts lust for blood, including Bruce's proposal that everyone beat America within an inch of his life. Poland is offended by England but then overjoyed when England seems to have comprehended the afterlife, leading him and Mayu and Kanaya to have a group hug. He is then executed, which goes exactly as well as could be expected.
England insists upon losing his sight that night as he promised during the trial he would send down a clue if he died.
DAY NINE: Ukraine arrives. The trial reactions are first to the idlers burnt, then Holden getting punched in the face, then Naegi's confession-con-conversion claim, and finally his execution, though his shade does not have a strong presence.
That night Bruce gives up a memory for the first ever scrap, while Luke and Ema discuss possibilities for themselves.
DAY TEN starts off rather peacefully; at first nobody new is joining them, and in fact Mayu has left, returned to the land of the living! Bruce struggles to remember what he forgot. The trial appears dull, with Togami idled and Ada turning herself in without a fight, to the point that Kanaya and Poland propose a drinking game. Then America gets shot. England is distressed, blind and confused, while Poland and Bruce guide him through the revelation and Luke looks on distressed. America shows up. There's a lot of yelling from ghosts of all alignments. Ada also appears, and though she feels , her greetings are actually warmer than other hunters who shot people might have been due to the negative sentiment surrounding America (Akane, who died in part through his inaction, even feels vindictive).
Perhaps attempting to make up for her sins as soon as possible, Ada gives up her right eye for a scrap.
DAY ELEVEN: I feel like "The Shooting" should be linked again here.
Joshua was crucified as the pack's prey kill, leading Critter to ironically describe things as boring compared to the nights with four or six losses. Joshua proudly verifies that he and the other active prey have all but discovered the remaining hunters. Meanwhile Akane watches Holden read Futility out loud in its entirety, Kanaya makes Ada an eyepatch (she is also crushed by the revelation that Charles inherited Elliot Nightray's role, which was actually the Sacrifice), and Poland is overwhelmed by all this and retreats into his shell (which will lead Prussia to seek him out later).
Prussia gets shot, the first indicator that something was different today. Joshua greets her as one of his executioners, Poland as the final hunter nation, and Kanaya as a neutral welcomer.
Next Ciel shoots Kyouko Kirigiri, who shoots Ciel in return. Wolves flock to their savior - Bruce, Ada, Prussia, Ukyo - all praising her actions and worrying that even after this much the pack will lose, which they say as explicitly as they are able is a terrible outcome. The only prey with fangs in the graveyard at the time approaches as well so they might reconcile. Ciel meanwhile sets to baking cakes so she can make up for breaking her promise to Charles. She is the inverse of Kyouko, greeted by a herd of proud sheep: Ema, Kanaya, Joshua, Ukraine (and Sayaka the rabbit-loving vulture). Ada is her outlier, a wolf who had asked her to survive.
LITHUANIA SHOOTS SANAE! Sanae was the bloodhound (though technically he was the omnivorous scavenger, virtually nobody in the graveyard realizes this distinction) but Lithuania was prey - he's burnt up by Critter for his betrayal, too. Critter does NOT bring in Lithuania, either. Sanae shows up, though.
Batman hates guns and America is late to the party.
Spain got shot!!! In the afterlife he tries to fall asleep. Ciel won't let him, though; there's Charles to fret about. England is (un)happy to see him and Ukraine offers her condolences. Most importantly, he and Prussia finally beso on the lips.
Critter offers a choice: Lithuania coming to the afterlife and no clues, or no Lithuania and three clues. Poland loses his shit but the choice is obvious.
Holden is executed. Spain immediately goes on the attack, requiring Prussia to extricate him. Poland takes this opportunity to divest Spain of the belief Charles is an angel he sent, though Ciel is flattered to believe anyway. England interjects so Spain can remind him he's the last nation standing. They fight. Fellow hunters Ada and Ukyo greet him as a brother in arms. Ciel also cordially greets him, pumping for information about the pack's mode of operation. Sayaka makes a pass at him but cannot summon much energy.
Some time after the results of the night vote, Spain and Poland have a moment.
DAY TWELVE is self-contained at least.
DAY THIRTEEN starts with another bombshell.

DAY TWELVE is self-contained at least.
- Sayaka Maizono arrives; she is consoled by her prey roommates and allies, Spain and Charles, as well as Kirigiri, with whom she reconciles.
- Charles does not arrive calmly; he is furious to have died alone and with only two hunters shot. Ciel and Spain and Joshua smother him as accepted with cakes and kisses and photos of Holden being beaten up, assuring him prey victory is imminent; Sayaka and Prussia and Kanaya have calmer but still happy greetings to offer.
- Kanaya ponders the gallery, which contains something she unlocked with her memory sacrifice. Poland, Luke, and especially Spain chime in, the last taking the opportunity to question the nonhuman about the nature of humanity.
- Charles starts off the trial-watching and is widely criticized for still cheering on the prey. Various assessments are made of the ethical code borne by each player still alive.
- Mayu is executed. Everyone is shocked and disappointed. She returns, happy-go-lucky, to many positive accolades and condolences.
- Robin also comes out of the fog to which she was lost for several days of her afterlife.
DAY THIRTEEN starts with another bombshell.
