The background: last year MCR announced the second US leg of the Long Live the Black Parade tour, with the city/date closest to me being Oct. 24 in L.A.. The Stroppy One sighed at the inevitable, and cass404 braved the Ticketmaster queue to get us tickets. the Ticketmaster online queue to get us tickets. Then MCR announced the final two shows of the tour, both in L.A.: Oct. 30 & 31. Cue much wailing from me, because there was no way I could afford to stay in L.A. for a week.

Last weekend, the Stroppy One suggested I ask Cass if I could stay at her place for a week, and the we head back to L.A. for the concerts. I stared, asked if he was okay with me missing our anniversary to go see MCR. He pointed out that he wouldn’t have suggested it if he wasn’t, just see if tickets were available you silly head.

So! After conferring with Cass, I’m going to see if any tickets are available. Because spending time with Cass is something I desperately miss, and omg my precious cupcakes of bombast.

[personal profile] sistawendy
Leather dyke munch. Had an agreeable time talking with fellow trans folks. Yes, again. Finally asked B the organizatrix, "Where are all the people over fifty?" She said that she'd been considering throwing an event earlier in the evening for us elders. Sort of like the Hot Flash dance nights an Neighbours, she said, only freakier. Shoot, I'd go. I would have stayed later at B's fundraiser on the other side of CC's, but I had plans for today, namely..

...I took a bus route that was new to me a loooong way south to White Center for my first Burning Man camp meeting this year. In attendance were Burner R (not to be confused with an earlier R's) and [personal profile] leenerella. Neither of them are planning on going to the playa this year, but this wasn't just a meeting for planning for Burning Man; there are other Burner-flavored events various subsets of the crew are going to, some of which I'll be medically unable to attend due to surgery.

It's been eight years since I went, and unlike my last several trips to The Thing In The Desert, I don't have my own vehicle anymore. I've been worried about logistics because how could I not be? R put my transportation fears to rest: the gang is used to carpooling, and has a trailer for moving the vast quantities of gear and infrastructure that we haul into the desert.

As for my smaller worries – camp dues, if any, and gasoline for the inevitable generator, etc. – it's too soon to ask about those. I'll just have to do what doesn't come naturally and take care of those questions later.

But overall, it's an experienced group of people who know what they're doing and also have fun. Hell to the yes. I'm feeling even better about this crew – Astro Shack, by name – than I felt earlier.

- While I still love love love this dress from a Ukrainian designer, I went to another website to ogle an embroidered long linen jacket that I've also pined over, and now I can't decide which to buy in a few weeks. I'm now leaning toward the linen piece, because that would be more versatile.

- I spent some time idly searching for granny and/or "Victorian" boots across eBay, Poshmark, and Depop, and let me tell you, there is nothing out there with combination of a pointed or almond toe shape, lace-up, a side zipper, and a 2" block or walking heel. But then I had the possibly brilliant thought of taking a pair of my existing lace-up boots to a cobbler to have a side zip put in. I need to ponder this some more, but I sense a trip to the cobbler in my future.

- Remember that fabric with the Haunted Mansion wallpaper print on AliExpress? It arrived, and the print quality is good! The actual color isn't pink, but a bright wine, which also works for me. When the Stroppy One saw the fabric, he told me to order more, as he wants a waistcoat in it, and possibly a jacket.

---

I'm constantly tired, no matter how much sleep I get, and I'm having non-stop stress nightmares every night. Dear Brain, a nightmare of the Stroppy One presenting us with divorce papers because we got his coffee order wrong is ridiculous, as is the one where he abandons me at airport security and walks off with my passport and Clovis Devilbunny. RIDICULOUS, STOP IT.

Drinks with the latex folks. We three trans women ended up in the corner together. I didn't have a good view of the sweet young(er) things in their shinery finery, but I did laugh a lot. Je ne regrette rien.

The bus location seems to be unusually imprecise lately. This meant running to catch one, which makes a little latex dress ride up. Good thing it was cold and I was wearing a long, puffy coat.

Got tax refund. Nuked debt and banked the rest because I have a funny feeling I need to keep my powder dry. Never mind how I feel about giving a zero-interest loan to this particular "administration"; you bet your butt I itemize deductions.

My general preferences are here.

DNW: unrequested mundane AU | female characters in fridges | non-con | violent dub-con | graphic violence | gore | graphic sexual violence | cruelty/death to animals | cruelty/death to children | requested character death | unrelieved grimdark | bigotry by the good guys | first or second POV | reader fic | ABO | soulbonds | wildly OOC in a non-cracky way

SMUT DNW: creampies | the word “cunt” | anal | hate each other out of bed | underage | incest

MAYBE: no-harm dubcon (sex pollen or “fertility artifact”) | period typical attitudes | infidelity | power dynamic

Specific DNW: No Yuuzhaan Vong/Force users plague/fridges

I love treats!

I am clearly a Original Trilogy/Legends girlie, so you know what to do!

My Star Wars preferences:

Legends | Stackpole | Zahn | Didn’t we just leave this party? | ROTJ | Rogue One | Kenobi | Lego SW | Wedge Antilles | Rogue Squadron | Mara Jade | Witches of Dathomir | Biggs Darklighter

So, I'm a Star Wars fan who's a little sad that the Extended Universe got handwaved away - I really loved Timothy Zahn and Michael Stackpole, and my requests tend to reflect that.  I am a Legends girl at heart, and you can’t go wrong if you write me something that belongs in either a Timothy Zahn book or one of Stackpole’s Rogue Squadron books.  Please don't refer to anything that happened after the godawful Vector Prime and switch to Del Rey.  No Yuuzhan Vong, no Mara Jade gets weird wasting disease, no Teneniel getting put in the freezer.

I'm also not a very active Star Wars fan.  I’m not into the games, am not reading the new EU stuff, so don’t write anything that requires a lot of homework to GET.

However, I'm also a Star Wars fan who thought Rogue One totally and completely rocked it out of the park. Loved it loved it loved it!  Went and saw it in the theaters like 4 times, including giving up a free day to go see it on a BIG screen.  It’s so good.  The novelization was good too.  I’m a fan of Everyone Lives/Krennic dies AUs or Some People Live/Some People Die.

I love the original three (ROTJ is my favorite).

I enjoyed the sequels (although that like is dwindling more every time I see a stupid handwave plot post) but didn’t LOVE them, especially after the ridiculously evident fact that they DIDN’T HAVE A PLAN.

I am NOT a fan of the prequels.  I wanted to like them, but I just couldn’t get past Phantom Menace and the stupidity of traveling around with young Obi-Wan Kenobi and falling for Anakin.

I’m not familiar with the animated SW shows, and my ignoring the prequels means I also missed all the “Jedi don’t have emotional attachments” which maybe should have gone down as a bad idea.

I’m not familiar with most of the Disney shows BUT I did enjoy Kenobi quite a bit.  I loved Tala and little Leia and Beru.

I did enjoy the zaniness of the Star Wars Lego Holiday special, so feel free to play off that.

My heart is with the original 3 (and Rogue One, now that it exists) and the "waved away" Extended Universe.  The more they make me feel like it requires me to do homework, the less interested I am.

I'm also not really a Luke fan. Give me Han and Wedge any day of the week. And maybe Ben Kenobi.  Or an AU where Biggs Darklighter becomes the most famous pilot from Tatooine.  And maybe find some way to make Rey a Kenobi descendant…?  I really wanted her to be a Kenobi descendant.  I still want her to be a Kenobi somehow.

Teneniel Djo/Luke Skywalker

Corran Horn/Mirax Terrik

Wedge Antilles/Leia Organa

Nawara Ven/Rhysati Ynr

Tycho Celchu/Winter Celchu

These are the romance requests.

Teneniel/Luke - I just really loved the vibe they have together. So explore that more. I generally am a Mara/Luke shipper as well but something about these two just speaks to me.

Corran/Mirax - The smartass flyboy meets the smart smuggler. What else do we NEED?

Wedge/Leia - So this is my every year request. I just want this. Like a fling, or FWB or more.

Nawara/Rhysati - These two were also interesting (feel free to pair with Corran/Mirax for a spectacular double date).

Tycho/Winter - I would really just love something soft for these two, maybe aftermath of the trial?

Teneniel/Luke – A fling on Dathomir?  I just enjoy them.  Feel free to blend with another request.

Corran/Mirax - I'm always down for Corran/Mirax and their relationship. (Combining them with Han/Leia could be very fun. Maybe some diplomatic event that gets steadily less boring? Corellia related? Mirax and Han swapping stories?). I love Mirax and Corran, especially when she takes him down a few notches, as he so often NEEDS.

Wedge/Leia - I think a fling could have happened, a little stress relief...

Keep them in the X-Wing or original series timeframe.  Leia is gone when Wedge finally makes his appearance in TLJ, but you could do something with that, him remembering her as friends or more.  I'd love to see more of this relationship, especially as it is portrayed in the Legends book. Or if you want to take it to TLJ, that would also be acceptable.

Nawara/Rhysati – Stolen moments in Rogue Squadron?  What happens after?  And when I say “spectacular double date” it probably involves jail or explosions.

Tycho/Winter -  I’d love something soft and fluffy and sweet for them (or maybe a little spicy).  Feel free to combine with Wedge/Leia.  Tycho/Winter deserve a quiet moment (and maybe a little disbelief that it’s over?)

Wedge Antilles & Leia Organa

Wedge Antilles & Biggs Darklighter

Teneniel Djo & Mara Jade

Corran Horn & Nejaa Halcyon

Tala Durith & Jyn Erso

These are the platonic requests.

Wedge & Leia - Business or pleasure?

Wedge & Biggs - I long for an AU where Biggs Darklighter is the best fighter pilot Tatooine ever produced. These two leaders get in trouble and need to be bailed out (bonus points if Leia is the person they call).

Teneniel & Mara - Aside from possibly dishing about Luke, I'd love to see these two kick some ass together.

Corran & Nejaa - Does Corran ever have a Force Ghost visitation?

Tala & Jyn - An AU where these two survive and get to cause trouble together? Feel free to include little Leia.

Wedge & Leia – Are these two on a mission or just trying to avoid death by boredom in a meeting they would have shot their way out of before the New Republic. Leia’s perspective on Rogue Squadron?

Wedge & Biggs - What if Biggs becomes the most famous fighter pilot from Tatooine? Ghostly encounter? There must always be a Darklighter in Rogue Squadron

I love love love Wedge Antilles. I'd love something set during original movies, X-Wing books or maybe a look at what he's doing in Last Jedi (or why he's NOT doing anything). I like Poe, but he's no Wedge Antilles.

I admit to a preference for the Wedge of the Rogue Squadron books, with the sly humor and him as the Commander of the Rogues (and their craziness). Maybe an AU where Biggs is in there with him? You could keep Gavin around as well.

Not really much to add besides WHERE ARE ALL THE PILOTS in the later movies?

I have a great affection for Biggs as well, and would love to see him and Gavin hanging out (maybe include Wedge). Or maybe Biggs lives and becomes the most famous pilot a planet called Tatooine ever produced....

Teneniel & Mara - Just don't put Teneniel in the fridge like they do later in the series. I loved young Teneniel and was super disapointed to see what they did to her.

Corran & Nejaa - I'd love to see Corran getting a force ghost visit from his grandfather.

Tala Durith and Jyn could be interesting (or Lyra … or all 3). Down time or mission time would be good.  Lyra and Jyn escape and join the Rebellion?  I’m here for it. Involving Tala (another candidate for Not Dying) would be awesome as well.

Teneniel Djo & Mara Jade & Leia Organa & Mirax Terrik

Corran Horn & Wedge Antilles & Mirax Terrik & Booster Terrik & Han Solo

Wedge Antilles & Tycho Celchu & Wes Janson & Derek "Hobbie" Klivian

Winter Celchu & Wes Janson

Pash Cracken & Wedge Antilles

These are (clearly) the shenanigans requests. For all of these, I am okay with a story about the action OR the bar after the action is over!

Teneniel Djo & Mara Jade & Leia Organa & Mirax Terrik - Not sure what they've teamed up for but their opponents are in trouble.

Corran Horn & Wedge Antilles & Mirax Terrik & Booster Terrik & Han Solo - Corellians attack!

Wedge Antilles & Tycho Celchu & Wes Janson & Derek "Hobbie" Klivian - You know the drill, I love Rogue Squadron. Feel free to add on anyone you need!

Winter Celchu & Wes Janson - What requires both their skills? (If the answer is pre-wedding shenanigans, sign me UP)

Pash & Wedge - The line about Pash buying his father a souvenir gets me every time!

Why have these four teamed up?  Not sure, but I feel bad for their opponents.

Wedge & Corran & Mirax & Han: Corellia Forever! The most epic smuggling job ever - or the stories in the bar later. Hijinks ensue. Rogue Squadron timeline or later. Maybe Booster and/or Leia are included?

So this is my Corellia/Corran Horn request.  Yes I know he’s a pain in the ass, but I do love him (especially if people take him down a peg or two).  I love the idea that all the Corellians could be drinking buddies, and I am 100% here for the idea that Corellians may have a higher percentage of people who use the Force on a subconscious level but think they’re just lucky.  Never tell them the odds.

I’m also totally down for you poking some gentle fun at CorSec Corran Horn being a little twitchy at being surrounded by the Corellian Rogues Gallery, even if he is involved with/married to one.

Wedge & Tycho & Wes & Hobbie – If you read Starfighters of Adumar you know the vibe.  Feel free to involve some others as well! (including Iella & Winter)

Winter & Wes - Getting into or out of trouble? Bonus points if you tie this to a Rogue Squadron related bachelor party. Remembering things/giving comfort/planning a surprise?

Pash & Wedge - Invasion of Coruscant hijinks? Ball Hijinks? Why are two fine upstanding pilots in quite so much trouble? Bonus points if Pash is about his father's business.

For Wedge and Pash, I love their interactions in the X-Wing books.  The whole bit where they’re undercover at the museum and Pask is talking about getting his father a souvenir?  That’s peak of what I would like.

  1. I've discovered that after a night's sleep I feel way better in my joints & muscles if I stay in the uncompressed middle of the mattress. I should probably rotate it.
  2. Yeah, orgasms are easier to come by lately. Is it longer days or lower estrogen levels? Tune in next winter.
  3. I've successfully done business correspondence in Esperanto. And why? Because I was trying to order the news monthly Monato, which is published in Belgium, and payments between North America and Europe are a pain.
  4. Edited to add: spent Monday and part of last night cleaning house. Nobody's coming over, but it was time.
  5. Edited to add some more: definitely making progress on the Burning Man Checklist of Doom.

Coffee at the mighty fine joint six blocks from my house with grad school classmate E. Yet more discussion of the struggles of parents, this time with ADHD & transness. Confirmed: E is two for two with the trans kids. And you know how Good Sister did nearly all the heavy lifting of taking care of Mom in my family? E is the good sister in her family. It was a beautiful day for a bite out of a perspective sandwich.

I wanted to go out for house music at Flammable, but I woke up too early due to homemade Ma Po tofu on Saturday. Le sigh. Betrayed by my body for the second time this weekend.

And why would I even think of going out on a Sunday night? Because I have the day off and, naturally, a to-do list. More typing when it's done.

But first, and this does come into play later: on Friday evening I got a COVID shot, etc. at CVS, no fuss no muss, a historically normal drugstore experience. There was a time when I would have taken that for granted, but not anymore. Pity CVS is kind of a hike from my place, unlike the cursed Walgreen's.

On to yesterday afternoon. I had coffee with [profile] dianala! Whom I hadn't seen since before the pandemic. She's one of my oldest friends in the Seattle area, and she's also the one who plugged me into MOO and thereby the kink community, LiveJournal and thereby Dreamwidth, etc. So you could say she's had an outsize influence on my life. She didn't work as hard at it as, say, [personal profile] cupcake_goth, but she administered some crucial course corrections at a few points in my life.

We're all living with the aftermath of the pandemic. Her two boys, now young men, have got the 'tism like whoa, and that's basically consumed her life since the pandemic started; the pandemic made it significantly harder. Her husband [personal profile] lister, who I actually think is cool, seems to be fighting depression, and she recognizes that she needs to get out & be more social. I'll do what I can, natch, but neither clubbing nor kink nor bleepy goodness are her thing. There's art, though.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that we've grown in such different directions since the turn of the century – she was the self-styled Big Dyke On Campus back in the early '90s – but I confess to being a little sad about it.

It's funny how she & I have both given into do-gooder impulses: I mainly through Lambert House, and she by starting a non-profit that does micro-grants fast, which is often of the essence. I'm impressed.

Fun fact: the user pic I used was taken in the very early aughts inside what was then [profile] dianala's house.

I went to the Mercury briefly. I enjoyed the Valentine's Day decorations as only [profile] seelenschwester would do them, plus all the femmes femmed up more than usual. (J of A&J fame confirmed my suspicion.) But the COVID shot kicked my butt and I left early. I swung by Pony on the way to the train station; I didn't feel the music, but I did start feeling a sore ankle. That was Goddess telling me to go home already, which I did.

Oh: of course one of the Merc DJs played a song that I first heard at one of [profile] dianala's parties. Kind of perfect, really.

Oh oh: the train to the north end announced itself as a 2 line train*! Hurrah! The automatic station announcements were for stations in Redmond, so the conductor had to get on the PA and give out the real ones for, you know, north Seattle. It is to laugh.

*For you out-of-towners, our light rail network isn't quite networked just yet: the two light rail lines are disconnected. The 1 line runs the length of Seattle and then some, and the 2 line stays on the east side of Lake Washington. That all changes on March 28th, though, when the world's only rail over a floating bridge opens to the public. They were testing things out yesterday. You know I'm psyched about this.

- I'm still dithering about the striped blouse and skirt from Blackwood Castle. The dithering continues because 1) do I really need more clothes? and 2) ...

- I spent a not-inconsiderable sum on a one-of-a-kind pendant from Bloodmilk. I missed it when it was originally for sale, but the woman who bought it is in France and realized that because of other things, she couldn't afford the tariffs and other shipping nonsense. She's reached out to Bloodmilk and they will ship it directly to me.

- Having bought that has also helped me deal with the extreme annoyance of learning that Chanel brought back Rouge Noir lipstick as a limited edition and it's already sold out and is going for double the original price over on Poshmark. Both the Stroppy One and minim-calibre reminded me that there was no way of seeing the color IRL (of course it was an online/boutique only release), so I had no way of telling if the color was accurate or if it skewed warm like so many dark blackened red lipsticks do these days.

- AMC has released another teaser trailer for The Vampire Lestat! Plus finally released the first single, "Long Face", for sale on various music platforms, and UPDATED THE MERCH STORE WITH A TOUR SHIRT. Sooooo those are things I tripped and hit the Buy Now button for.

- The Ghost concert is Sunday, wheeee! Faux -Satanic metal + bombast is exactly what I need right now. Shallow Fashion Details for my planned outfit:

  • Black and pink striped unnerving governess dress
  • Black lace and ribbon jabot that has the "Memento Vivre / Memento Mori" ribbon from Kalma as the focal point
  • Wide black elastic belt with skeleton hand buckle
  • Hair pulled up under a vintage black silk top hat (it's a short crown hat, so it won't block anyone's view) festooned with veils
  • Black and pink Dr. Martens
  • Black face mask
Now to hope I can manage to dye at least the front half of my hair so it's not a faded mess that shows beneath the hat.

I took the bus to West Seattle for a munch and, more importantly, to see Blue Moon Lady. Ahem. Victory: it only too me two buses and seventy minutes, instead of the previous three buses and ninety minutes.

It's been ages since I went that far on California Ave., if I ever did. It's got an impressive number of small businesses. i get the impression that West Seattle wouldn't suck as a place to live, except that it's notoriously hard to get anywhere else from there.

Had pleasant chats with kinky folk. Collected kinky stickers. Colored weird drawings. Drank tasty beer at Good Society, which is a microbrewery. Happiness.

I mentioned to BML that I hadn't seen her at the Blue Moon lately. She said I should reminder her via... means I have at my disposal. Go me!

But then it came time to go home. I gave up and called a Lyft because I just didn't feel up to a ninety-minute trip starting at 2100. Le sigh.

Remember way back in early December when I submitted my art to the Seattle Erotic Art Festival? It’s been accepted! Well, for the exhibition shop, because I was too chicken to submit it for the main exhibition. But still, it feels pretty good. I’m, like, an artist or something.

So now I need to make another a trip to the craft store to get sleeves for my art, and then get them to SEAF. Unfortunately, delivery might not just be a bus trip downtown, and why?

Because I’ll miss SEAF this year in favor of recovering from facial feminization surgery. Yes, which will contain my art piece about gender dysphoria. The irony is not lost on me.

Back in August of 2025, we announced a temporary block on account creation for users under the age of 18 from the state of Tennessee, due to the court in Netchoice's challenge to the law (which we're a part of!) refusing to prevent the law from being enforced while the lawsuit plays out. Today, I am sad to announce that we've had to add South Carolina to that list. When creating an account, you will now be asked if you're a resident of Tennessee or South Carolina. If you are, and your birthdate shows you're under 18, you won't be able to create an account.

We're very sorry to have to do this, and especially on such short notice. The reason for it: on Friday, South Carolina governor Henry McMaster signed the South Carolina Age-Appropriate Design Code Act into law, with an effective date of immediately. The law is so incredibly poorly written it took us several days to even figure out what the hell South Carolina wants us to do and whether or not we're covered by it. We're still not entirely 100% sure about the former, but in regards to the latter, we're pretty sure the fact we use Google Analytics on some site pages (for OS/platform/browser capability analysis) means we will be covered by the law. Thankfully, the law does not mandate a specific form of age verification, unlike many of the other state laws we're fighting, so we're likewise pretty sure that just stopping people under 18 from creating an account will be enough to comply without performing intrusive and privacy-invasive third-party age verification. We think. Maybe. (It's a really, really badly written law. I don't know whether they intended to write it in a way that means officers of the company can potentially be sentenced to jail time for violating it, but that's certainly one possible way to read it.)

Netchoice filed their lawsuit against SC over the law as I was working on making this change and writing this news post -- so recently it's not even showing up in RECAP yet for me to link y'all to! -- but here's the complaint as filed in the lawsuit, Netchoice v Wilson. Please note that I didn't even have to write the declaration yet (although I will be): we are cited in the complaint itself with a link to our August news post as evidence of why these laws burden small websites and create legal uncertainty that causes a chilling effect on speech. \o/

In fact, that's the victory: in December, the judge ruled in favor of Netchoice in Netchoice v Murrill, the lawsuit over Louisiana's age-verification law Act 456, finding (once again) that requiring age verification to access social media is unconstitutional. Judge deGravelles' ruling was not simply a preliminary injunction: this was a final, dispositive ruling stating clearly and unambiguously "Louisiana Revised Statutes §§51:1751–1754 violate the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, as incorporated by the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution", as well as awarding Netchoice their costs and attorney's fees for bringing the lawsuit. We didn't provide a declaration in that one, because Act 456, may it rot in hell, had a total registered user threshold we don't meet. That didn't stop Netchoice's lawyers from pointing out that we were forced to block service to Mississippi and restrict registration in Tennessee (pointing, again, to that news post), and Judge deGravelles found our example so compelling that we are cited twice in his ruling, thus marking the first time we've helped to get one of these laws enjoined or overturned just by existing. I think that's a new career high point for me.

I need to find an afternoon to sit down and write an update for [site community profile] dw_advocacy highlighting everything that's going on (and what stage the lawsuits are in), because folks who know there's Some Shenanigans afoot in their state keep asking us whether we're going to have to put any restrictions on their states. I'll repeat my promise to you all: we will fight every state attempt to impose mandatory age verification and deanonymization on our users as hard as we possibly can, and we will keep actions like this to the clear cases where there's no doubt that we have to take action in order to prevent liability.

In cases like SC, where the law takes immediate effect, or like TN and MS, where the district court declines to issue a temporary injunction or the district court issues a temporary injunction and the appellate court overturns it, we may need to take some steps to limit our potential liability: when that happens, we'll tell you what we're doing as fast as we possibly can. (Sometimes it takes a little while for us to figure out the exact implications of a newly passed law or run the risk assessment on a law that the courts declined to enjoin. Netchoice's lawyers are excellent, but they're Netchoice's lawyers, not ours: we have to figure out our obligations ourselves. I am so very thankful that even though we are poor in money, we are very rich in friends, and we have a wide range of people we can go to for help.)

In cases where Netchoice filed the lawsuit before the law's effective date, there's a pending motion for a preliminary injunction, the court hasn't ruled on the motion yet, and we're specifically named in the motion for preliminary injunction as a Netchoice member the law would apply to, we generally evaluate that the risk is low enough we can wait and see what the judge decides. (Right now, for instance, that's Netchoice v Jones, formerly Netchoice v Miyares, mentioned in our December news post: the judge has not yet ruled on the motion for preliminary injunction.) If the judge grants the injunction, we won't need to do anything, because the state will be prevented from enforcing the law. If the judge doesn't grant the injunction, we'll figure out what we need to do then, and we'll let you know as soon as we know.

I know it's frustrating for people to not know what's going to happen! Believe me, it's just as frustrating for us: you would not believe how much of my time is taken up by tracking all of this. I keep trying to find time to update [site community profile] dw_advocacy so people know the status of all the various lawsuits (and what actions we've taken in response), but every time I think I might have a second, something else happens like this SC law and I have to scramble to figure out what we need to do. We will continue to update [site community profile] dw_news whenever we do have to take an action that restricts any of our users, though, as soon as something happens that may make us have to take an action, and we will give you as much warning as we possibly can. It is absolutely ridiculous that we still have to have this fight, but we're going to keep fighting it for as long as we have to and as hard as we need to.

I look forward to the day we can lift the restrictions on Mississippi, Tennessee, and now South Carolina, and I apologize again to our users (and to the people who temporarily aren't able to become our users) from those states.
