It wasn't just the foreshortening. He was huge anyway. He reached past my hip when he stood upright.

Years ago, I saw a (non-animated) cartoon: "What If Famous Authors Had Been On Prozac?" One of the authors was Edgar Allan Poe, saying to the raven, "Well, hi there, birdie!"

The Pelican really was almost as big as me and my mother. Not as big as the angle makes him look but he reached past my hip.

It's actually an albino cassowary that's had plastic surgery. :P
